Also, once you reach about 30% crit, Wind serpents start to pull ahead (If you have GftT), since their focus dump is superior.. if you're using a ravager past that, you're starting to waste focus, because you're generating it faster than your pet can use it; Also, the fact that lightning breath ignores armor is nice too :P

you'll want to go with a raveger/cat
the ravegers do slightly more dps because they use gore instead of claw, reaosn being is gore has 50% chance to do double damage

Is, say, Loque a good pet to raid, or should I go straight cat (i don't like ravagers much)
What are the diferences?

Holy necro.
This thread was back when ravager's had
the slightest
dps increase over cats due to gore.
Spirit beasts provide the same dps as normal ferocity pets now. Their special abilities are just shiny fluff.

I'm sad that more Hunters are going to have a Wind Serpent now... I'm going to miss being a special little snowflake.

Oh s*** didn't noticed i was necroing :\ sorry bout that. But since i did, might as well get my answers out the way :p So in 4.0 the best dps is still the cat? Or did it changed again?

I believe this information is all over the forums, but I'll be gentle and answer. All pets have normalized damage now and each "class" of pet brings its own unique raid buff (in most cases). While Ferocity Pets still do more damage than Cunning which does more damage than Tenacity, you'll usually want to bring the pet that provides a buff your raid does not have.
If your raid has all the buffs provided from your pets, then bring whatever Ferocity pet you want. It literally makes zero difference.
To find out what pets provide what buffs, you can go to:

I roamed petopia up and down and never found the forums, silly me. Thanks a bunch. \o/
Why is it that the low-post-count spambot-in-the-making posters always manage to dredge up some topic from Hella Long Ago when they start posting...? That always baffles me completely.
Thanks for the insults, they actually helped me plently
