Best Profession for Resto Druid

My lovely alt druid is currently at lvl 61 and feral spec for lvling. I plan on going Resto once I hit 70 as healers are so thin on the ground and my guild could really use one.
I just hit 300 leatherworking and I'm getting the LW-ing blues. Its seems a giant waste of time to be honest. I haven't worn anything I've crafted since lvl 25 and armor kits aren't worth the enormous pain in the butt of lvling up this profession.
I've just read that resto druids who have leatherworking are ultimately disappointed with the endgame gear they can make and that its not worth doing LW-ing at all unless you stay feral.

Any Resto Druids on here that have LW-ing and can give me any advice?
I've been advised to ditch LW-ing and take up herb/alc but I already have that on my main (a shadowpreist) so what profession is ultimately the most useful to a Resto Druid (that isn't alchemy? )

been doing some reading and workin on it now with my druid but goin with tailoring. With the buffs we get from the primal moonglade stuff and then also getting the threads from aldors for me it seems the only way to go.

Tailoring and LW will both give you excellent gear. From what I've read,
don't mind that it's cloth, until MH and BT, you won't find better.
I'm just making myself a Windhawk set for my resto gear (am feral),
and looking through some of the comments here and comparing it to
some gear around... it's extremely good. The mats are a pain,
not easy at all to obtain, but imo in the end, it's worth it.
Tailoring's best from what I've heard, but if you got LW, stick with it and
get Windhawk set.

I've been herbalism / alchemy since I created the character, and I've often considered dropping herbalism for a more character-oriented profession, such as enchanting (for ring enchants!) but the reason I've stuck with it is because my druid is the only character I have with an epic flyer. Trying to farm herbs on a high-population server without one is pretty bad. However, once I'm able to get another char an epic flier I'll be ditching herbalism for leatherworking to craft the Leather Chestguard of the Sun come Sunwell. Ideally just pick up whatever you think you'll get best use out of. If you want a BoP item and there are no other logical alternatives, pick up its respective profession. Otherwise, just learn something you can make money from. :)

i agree with shoggy

alchemy for the win =))

the alchemist stone provides extra mana regen with mana pots, the gear you make with leather working may be surpassed via raiding and or pvp/arenas

I took both Enchanting and Jewelcrafting on my Druid to try and min/max all of my gear. That being said my character is currently level 18 with both professions maxed (150), I am not sure if I will get bored with it or not. But it's the first time I have taken both of those professions.
