As our rotation becomes solid, it will be much easier to design a faceroll macro. So we can have a cup of coffee when playing retribution paladins.

What? No. Go away.

Perhaps some people really need more buttons on their action bars as if in this way they seem more intelligent than they are.
Nevertheless I have a proprosal:
#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=10/combat Judgement,Crusader Strike,Holy Wrath,Crusader Strike,Judgement,Crusader Strike,Crusader Strike
/cast Exorcism
/stopcasting
Keep spamming this macro, you will automatically cast all the spells you need for retribution dps except Inquisition and Templar's Verdict. So the priority will be, if you have 3 stacks of Holy Power or Divine Purpose (
) is active, cast Templar's Verdict (or Inquisition, if you don't have the buff); else spam this macro.

Wouldn't
/cast exorcism
/stopcasting
reset swing timers?

Yeah, that's the trouble. I'm thinking about going with only this:
#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=10/combat Judgement,Crusader Strike,Holy Wrath,Crusader Strike,Judgement,Crusader Strike,Crusader Strike
It combines 3 spells: Judgement, Crusader Strike, and Holy Wrath. We need to cast the rest.
One way or another, this is far from perfect. I believe there must be a way to create a faceroll macro (setup) for retribution pallies in 4.0.6. I will keep working.

My tip would be to download RET FCFS Rotation Helper: (

Since you will not achieve the absolute maximum in a macro, plus it's gay! :>

Yea cuz datz tru!
A macro would (during patchwerk fights) be more able at doing your job than you would.
However since such a macro is not possible, due to a lot of reasons, you'll just have to do it yourself.

Let me know if/when we have a Patchwerk encounter in Cataclysm.

Argaloth
"Crusader Strike, Holy Shock, and Hammer of the Righteous no longer incorrectly grant Holy Power from a missed attack."
50% of the time, you'll be having Argaloth in your face, have fun getting the expertise cap without getting dodged / parried.

I've seen this poster before. For some people making macros is three parts fun logic puzzle and one part practical improvement on game play. Nothing wrong with that.

I seriously doubt when Blizzard implemented macros, that people would do a macro and then press the button until the world ends. Do you?
But yes, I see your point that people can see it as a logical puzzle and find it enjoyable to design a macro that would make things easier.
But for people like me, I actually enjoy having multiple buttons to push, and adjusting to the fight, using my own brain and quick calculations.

No, because that's what people did. I have a friend who started playing WoW a couple months ago and one of the first things he did was to stick all his abilities in a macro that he constantly updates.
But for people like me, I actually enjoy having multiple buttons to push, and adjusting to the fight, using my own brain and quick calculations.
That's fine, but don't diss others because they don't agree with you.

The OP should recognize that just simply stringing together Judgment, 3 Crusader Strikes, and Holy Wrath isn't efficient let alone effective for a Ret Paladin before trying to come up with a macro for it. Too many other events may happen even in such a small window to believe this could work efficiently let alone wonder if there is a way to write something to do it.

I don't "diss" people, and I do apologise if you took it personal.
But if someone manages to create a one-button-macro, and utilize it to great success, then job well done, however I recommend using the addon CLCret if you are having problems with the rotation, it has been updated for 4.0.6 - It's as close to a one-button macro you can come at the moment.
