Last September was when Nick Canada went live. And yeah, the Teletoon anime was semi-lame heh; Megaman NT Warrior, Spider Riders, and the like. But I think YTV had most of them already so they had to make do with what they could get. Of course the current crop of 'anime' on YTV is just Yu-gi-oh 5D, Pokemon, and Beyblade Metal Fusion, with maybe random animes late at night/early in the morning; can't remember the last time I saw Naruto or Bleach on.

I just did a quick perusal of Nick Canada. Looks like a half-assed copy of YTV. What's the point?
Is the Funimation Network still around down in the States? When that was first being announced, it looked pretty badass.

What's the point?Lol, well, in the morning, it's all the Nick Jr toons, from 3pm on, it's 'adult' ones; but yeah, YTV had most of the original airing, but they've been steadily phasing them out; only Nicktoons that are still there are Fairly Odd Parents, Spongebob, ICarly, and Penguins of Madagascar. I semi-like the channel; I can watch Danny Phantom, Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life and some of my other favorites again heh, which don't air anymore on YTV. Though, YTV has been a strange channel; they showed Daria, Downtown and the Spider-man Animated(the cel shaded CGI one) from MTV, and Teletoon picked up the Head, the Maxx, Spawn and Undergrads.

Solid, I wish it was available up here.
I miss the old late-night Anime blocks on YTV. 10-11 or so it was the usual, then they showed a few darker ones, it was wicked.
Anyway, I don't care what anyone says, I'm with Adamsm, DBZ will always be amazing.
Edit: Oh man! I remember when Teletoon showed the crazy animated version of Spawn, I loved that. I actually really liked those MTV animated series.

I remember when Teletoon showed the crazy animated version of Spawn, I loved that.Aye completely uncut and uncensored; was one of the better ones there heh.
I actually really liked those MTV animated series.I was never a fan of the Maxx or the Head, but I've been a Daria fan forever, and Downtown and Undergrads aren't bad... they just suffer from MTV season rot; you get one season and that's it lol.
Varaconn, do you remember when Teletoon used to show the anime movies late at night? First time I saw Ninja Scroll was on that channel lol; and I gotta tell you, being a thirteen year old and seeing something like that..... then Space started it up too; such a good time to be a TV watcher lol.

Haha, sounds like we both had the golden age of anime on TV. =P
I remember those, yeah. I had bought Ninja Scroll (on VHS,
represent
) at HMV when I was like....12 because, you know, ninjas. (Technically my parents or my grandmother bought it for me or something.) And, though I didn't get it, I thought it was amazing. I was shocked to see it (and Spawn for that matter, because it was similar in the maturity of the content) turn up on Teletoon, regardless of timeslot.
I don't recall Maxx or the Head specifically, but I also liked Daria, Downtown, and Undergrads, good dark, sarcastic humor.
It's funny you should mention Witch Hunter Robin -- it's the exact anime I had in my mind when I mentioned the late-night "darker" anime block.

Heh, aye, it was a good time to watch the animes. And
the Maxx
(forgot about her Hartman hips),
the Head
(seriously, screwed up), and
Aeon Flux
was on Teletoon as part of the Oddities block.
Of course, Teletoon also gave us
Cybersix
, sure it was done by a French studio... but it was an amazing piece. And Card Captors... which thinking back.. you realize just how much crap they got past the radar with that anime for being shown during 'school' time; best friend who was gay, a 10 year old in love with a 16 year old, who was an guardian angel who was possibly in love with her brother.... yeah.
I had Ninja Scroll from when I taped it off of Teletoon lol, then finally picked up the DVD a few years ago. But yeah, seeing that and Spawn made me realize there were more then just your regular cartoons out there lol. Really wish Teletoon would bring that back, and get rid of Robot Chicken lol.
And yeah, Witch Hunter Robin was a great anime, and one of the better ones that YTV had.

Welp, just finished NHK.
Freaking great, but I hate that I relate so much to the protag, at least in the beginning. :(
Also, congrats Anime thread for reaching 20 pages!

So I was watching today as my Naruto Shippudden stuff was converting... and just realized there was one heck of an animation shift between the first one and episode 165 lol; kinda of shocking.

Sorry to hear you lack tear ducts. Only explanation I can think of.

Well, I don't know, I just didn't find any of it to be all that tear-enducing. However, I almost cried during the play when Nagisa was getting flashbacks, but that's about it.
Oh, quick E: I just recently cried during the Tomoyo OVA. ;_;

for what it's worth: bleach manga has no filler afaik. although i love the animation of the show and the music(most of the time) you can't beat the manga.
Dunno if Blade of the Immortal has been mentioned. sick manga, great show.

which is exactly why i prefer it over the anime.
but i will give fight scenes a plus juan in favor of anime.
not sure if you've read the claymore manga, it is definitely worth a read. and the anime is worth a watch too. no filler :]
