"Are you telling me you have to learn the language of demons you're supposed to bind to your whims so that you can understand them, despite the fact that they obviously know Common and Orcish?" Meyer asked softly.
"And seriously, we warlocks are a numerous and prospering folk, no matter what anyone could say. Why do you think we haven't translated the books into our languages for our own convenience?"

"Dad says that by knowing how to speak the language of demons you will know if they are ploting anything against you. You can then know when it is best to break them further. And I guess we havn't translated the tomes because no one other than warlocks wants to learn how to speak demonic, and that keeps them from learning our secrets?"

"That's not the point I'm trying to make, kid," Wilhelm said, then pointed at Gesvene and murmured an incantation in Eredun. Several tendrils of shadow burst out of his palm and wrapped around the succubus, lifting her into the air and holding her for a few seconds.
After letting her go, he rolled his neck, and repeated the scene, only this time he said, "Dark Hand of the Shadow-walker, Bind My Enemy!"
The third time was accompanied by "Zinga zanga jibber jabber."
"See what I did there?" Meyer asked Lak'tuk.

"Language," Wilhelm said, "Has no inherent magical power. It is what you put in it that makes magic happen. For instance, I say,
Ered
," he raised a hand and arcane flames began dancing on his palm, "And both you and I, knowing that it is Eredun for 'Fire' and Eredun being a language of demons, expect something fiery to happen."

Markoth knocked on the door to James' house.
((Asspull time. I'm assuming they're at the house, and Markoth is ready to get going and wants to check if James is going with them.))

Without preamble, Markoth asked, "Were you planning on going back to the Plaguelands? We can't let heretics like them live."

"I see. Would you mind company?" The paladin had been a good ally. It would be a shame to lose him.

"You helped me while we were in Tirisfal, and now it's my turn to help you. I'll do whatever you need of me," he replied, giving a serious nod.
