Person 1: That is a tree.
Person 2: No, that is not a tree, that is a firetruck
Person 1: It has bark, it has leaves, it is wood, and it grows, it is a tree.
Person 2: Well I could just say it has bark, it has leaves, it is wood, and it grows, so it is a firetruck.
Person 1: Well you're wrong.
Person 2: Well I could just say you're wrong.
If you wanted it to actually reflect this thread, it should go more like this...
There is a platypus.
Person 3: /facepalm

What I'm trying to do is prove how childish and stupid most of your arguments have been.
The arguments are not childish, and by no means stupid. You haven't even provided any counter arguments. You haven't explained how Laihendi's beliefs are wrong and yours are right.

Who says I was personifying myself with Person 3? He was really just meant to symbolize good reason.
Edit: Removed quote pyramid.

Person 3 is legally blind and can't tell the difference between a platypus and a tree, therefore he might have good reason, but do to his handicap he is unable to put it to good use at the moment.
Person 2 plainly sees the tree in front of him, but denies that it is a tree and claims that it is a fire truck.

My opinion is that while Queggy is posting flawed arguments (to my non-religious mind, at least), Laihendi is just being obnoxious.
The majority of Queggy's posts that I have read have at least been respectful to the other posters. Laihendi, on the other hand, seems to me to be actively trying to be as insulting as possible. In my mind, I picture him filling the same role as the guys you see in towns and cities waving placards with religious slogans, except from an athiestic point of view.
Of course, that's just how it's looking from my point of view.

Laihendi isn't being obnoxious, and not trying to be insulting. He is describing things as he sees them, and others take offense because it threatens and questions their beliefs and values.

The problem is, in this thread, I can see no Person 1.

Because you're person 3, which makes you legally blind.
How about this.
Person 1: Behold, a tree!
Person 2: That is a firetruck, not a tree.
Person 3: Are you both mad? That is clearly a platypus.
Person 1: It has bark, it has leaves, it grows, and it is made of wood. Clearly, it is a tree.
Person 2: Nay, if it has leaves, bark, grows, and is made of wood, then it must be a firetruck.
Person 3: *Puts on glasses and squints really hard*. Why you both are fools, for that appears to be a platypus to me.
Person 1: But it has leaves, bark, grows, and is made of wood.
Person 2: Yes, that it does.
Person 1: So it is a tree.
Person 2: No, it is a firetruck.
Person 1: You're wrong.
Person 2: Well I can just say you're wrong.

Let me try to explain why I'm not, with a story:
Everyone sees the color red as blue. They are born like this. They will always be like this. They always have been like this.
One day, one kid comes along who doesn't have that problem, and can see red as red. He tells people about this.
The people think this child has some sort of vision problem, and try to fix him so he can see red "properly".

Except it's that one kid who is color blind, and not the rest of the world.

Not in my story, and certainly not in this thread.

Evolution is a theory with scientific evidence supporting it. The bible is a book written thousands of years ago, and you don't even really know who wrote it.
It has no more credibility than the Koran. And yet somehow islam is wrong, but your christianity is right. You said it yourself, you go to a christian school. You've been practically brainwashed your entire education to think that your religion is right. It's not any more correct or any more plausible than any other religion--which is to say it isn't plausible at all.
Why do you think public funded schools aren't allowed to be religious? Religious school is what they do in extreme religious fundamentalist societies. Face it Queggy, you're woefully uninformed in so many areas, as made evident by many of the things you've said lately.
I beg to differ. I

Scientific errors related to embryology are contained in the Koran. In 86:6-7 the Koran says, "He is created from a drop emitted- Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs". This echoes the scientific error of Hippocrates who believe semen originates from all the fluid in the body, starting from the brain down the spinal chord, before passing through the kidneys and finally the ********* into the *****
