Emotions are chemicals in the brain.
Supposedly. Emotions are supposedly chemicals in the brain. I still fail to believe this at all, because I can easily control what I'm feeling on my own free will, not what the juices in my brain tell me.
You're aware that drugs can be used to alter emotions, aren't you? Have you ever wondered how?
Yeah, cause drugs is drugs. They mess choo up, man.
And I totally wasn't on weed when I posted this.

You don't think I experience true euphoria when I take a (usually illegal) drug? That taking anti-depressants stops me from feeling sad? That taking sex hormones will make me want to have sex? That exercising will make me happy?
Emotions are triggered by chemicals, which are triggered by neurons firing in your brain. I personally choose to believe that there are deeper and true emotions that can be found in the soul. But that doesn't change the science.

I would say no. They produce a manufactured and cloned response that is designed to copy the effect that emotions have on you. But the whole problem with them is that they are simulated. They aren't natural.

Even without drugs it's still chemicals in your brain dictating your emotions. They naturally exist in your body. Drugs tamper with them.

True emotions originate from and are deeply felt there.

Just because I say something 5 times doesn't make it true. And yes, the chemicals in your brain lets your body feel emotions, but the deeper part of emotions is experienced in the soul.

I hate to contradict, especially since I'm (honestly) full o' love for everyone, but
nobody
can claim that "true" (or any other kind of) emotions come from the "soul". It all boils down to belief, not anything that can be proven.
The only thing that can be (and has been) proven is that emotions are......(all the stuff Sky already pointed out).
Facts and tests aren't romantic or attractive in the least, but that's not to say we can invent a more appealing source that suits our vision better.

Edit: lets talk on a very theoretical level, if I take your soul, and put it in someone Else's body, then you would love what they love, and hate what the hate. do you disagree with that?

No. Emotions aren't just a chemical reaction. Son't they make you feel some way? Not just your body feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but don't you as a person feel anything? I'm sure right now you are feeling anger at me and your body feels that anger, but are not you as a person feeling something about taht anger? Or are you just such a perfect being you can control your emotions like a Vulcan?
Except the brain isn't being controlled by anything, because it's purpose is to control the body.
That's like saying your computer isn't being controlled by anything because it's purpose is to run the OS.
And how can emotion possibly originate from there?
I would say all your thoughts come from the soul. Your eyes read what I am writing, and your brain processes what the eyes are seeing into words and then your soul read the words and thinks about them, then it controls the brain to tell the body to write out a reply.
