Just got
this
for a friend of mine; a beautiful collection of maps covering all of Essos, along with lay-outs for specific locations, like most cities and fortresses. Totally worth it if you're map lover like me.

Trollfucious say that Game of Thrones sounds like a hipster name for Musical Chairs.

Also I'm pretty sure Book 3 is being split into 2 seasons

Wait, is it up to a Clash of Kings now? Because I hated that book -_-
Storm of Swords = best.

Ah, cool. I couldn't really tell from the trailer (having no sound probably helped with that one).
Dunno about the show, though. I couldn't get into it, even though I loved the books.

The last few books kind of disappointed me. Although ADWD was an improvement over AFFC. I just wish he didn't release them at a snails pace >.<

AFFC was probably one of my favourite ones. Political drama is where it's at!

Better than Robert Jordan <.<
But yeah, AFFC was pretty meh. ADWD was better (though the ending KILLED ME. AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH). ASoS and the first book were the best.

I just felt like it moved kind of slowly. And 90% of the book being from the perspective of the same three characters didn't help. Jamies chapters were good, Cersei's chapters were amusing in a
was-this-&*!@#-dropped-on-her-head
type of way, but Brienne's chapters felt more like something I had to get through, rather than something I enjoyed reading. Maybe it was the fact that she was looking in all the wring places for the Stark girls, and we knew it.
It was also kind of a shame seeing the whole Northern uprising come to an end
The only interesting stuff for me going on was the happenings in the Iron Islands.

me too >.<
I'm like 90% sure Melisandre's going to bring him back to life though

I hope she does, because otherwise I'm leaving, for good. He was the last character I genuinely liked (well, beside Tyrion).

I actually really like the fact that the perspectives were all from people who were very close geographically, it set a faster pace (per book) for what was going on in an individual setting. All the previous books had me skipping between like 8 different settings trying to remember what happened last time I read from this persons perspective.
