That's my thoughts exactly tbh. I'm planning on using at least 1 point in Feral Aggression. In my current Cata build, I took a point out of Fury Swipes for that.
Also, parrazell, keep in mind that the T10 4set bonus is going away, so the "15% damage increase every minute" might not be such a good idea. For initial aggro though, I'm all for it (barkskin+enrage ftw)!
Stampede would be quite nice too, but with Maul no longer being on-next-melee, it loses most of its usefulness. Although it does give increased chances in procs off auto-attacks, i.e. Fury Swipes and OoC ...

I think it would feel less defeating if instead of haste rating on gear, they just had flat percentages (or fractions of percents) of haste contributed. While this might have the effect of making lower level pieces of gear marginally more beneficial, players would still want to upgrade for the sake of additional mana/spell power/regen, etc. It wouldn't feel as much like we're taking steps backwards for the "crime" of leveling up, though.
Would get messy. A flat percentage scales as you level, so you would never really have to upgrade the item. If you had a cloth armor for example, that would be like: XXX armor, spell power +5% and haste +3%, you could wear it since 10 till 85, and just ignore the low armor.
thats an interesting point, but then sunder has an add X threat component, all of FFF's threat comes from its damage. It would be awesome if it turned FFF into FFFx3.
Based the idea on the fact that Faerie Fire is now exactly the same debuff as Sunder Armor. It has stacks and reduces armor by the same amount as Sunder, and it does not stack with Sunder. So it is pretty much Devastate, but for free and with less damage. But i could also be wrong, and it's still the old way around.

Intellect does depreciate in value.
As you level, your spells (which cost a percentage of your base mana, which in turn goes up as you level) cost more. This means that in terms of "how many spells can I cast" each point of intellect is worth less.
In the forms in which they interact with enemies, Intellect and Stamina also depreciate in value. Since enemies will both hit harder and have more hit points as they go up in level, the offensive qualities of Intellect (which are being added in Cataclysm and are currently known as Spell Power) decrease in value. A given amount of spellpower will hit softer in comparison to an enemy's total hit points.
In the same way, each point of stamina is worth less, when counted as "How many hits can I take before dying" as you go up in level, and face higher level enemies.

(Well, spells will be more expensive, but barely relative to the additional mana you'll be stacking from better gear.)
This is true of haste too. ("Spells will be slower, but barely, relative to the additional haste you'll be stacking from better gear.")

Guess it´s perhaps time to get PTR client and try it out as Boomkin seems pretty final because there hasn´t been any bigger changes the last week.
Still working my way through the boomkin changes on the PTR (combination of the loss of hit talents and the gain of reforging and mastery) but I can tell you I've gone up ~17%(8.4 - 9.8k dps) in personal sustained dps on the heroic target dummy, from live to the current ptr build as of this posting.
Edit: mana regen is almost a zero concern as well. I used to be able to do a dps run on a dummy that would end around 3.6mil total damage done before going oom. Just recently I went 7.4mil and never used innervate. All at the above numbers.

To add to parrazells previous post. The Cataclysm heroics will be much harder than the WotLK heroics, according to what they say and what the tests look like. But the difficulty is not in uber huge damage that would instantly kill us. Enrage will still be a viable ability to use, especially once we gear up into the raid tier.
There is one big thing that is gonna make the Cataclysm heroics hard, and that is mechanics that can not be out-geared. Pure damage can be out-geared. Timed enrage can be out-geared. Skull cracker can not. It's an instant kill ability, and you do necessarily need to do what you are supposed to do to survive it. Watch the Deadmines video from Total Biscuit. It is bloody awesome, and he does compare heroics in Cataclysm he has tried so far to the heroics of WotLK and BC. I am rather curious about Stonecore heroic from his talking.
