Zeegers Sets New Speedrun World Record for Leveling 1-60 in WoW Classic (Real Time Aided Category)

just set a new speedrun world record for leveling 1-60 in 36 hours, classified under the Real Time Aided category. Congratulations!
For the Aided category, the leveled character relies on the help of other players killing mobs for experience gains. The Real Time category also means that the timer keeps running when the player steps away from the computer or logs out--so marathon sessions are encouraged for the fastest possible time. As leveling from 1-60 takes a sizable number of hours, staying awake and alert to complete the run in one sitting turns into an additional challenge.
This run took 36 hours 12 min, beating the previous record
held by arlaeus
in the Real Time (Aided) of 50 hours 37 min 50 sec, shaving off over 12 hours.
The record run relied on a mix of mob-tagging for the early levels (1-25 took four hours) and dungeon boosting at later levels, including
Zul'Farrak
and a truly mind-numbing amount of hours in
Zul'Gurub
. While this may just look like effortless Mage AoE leveling, a large amount of research and precision was put into the route taken, synchronizing perfectly with the pathing routes of trash mobs. Here's a clip showing the coordination required (and do keep in mind that the streamer was awake for over 24 hours at this point).
The AoE grinding ended at level 58, as Zeegers then swapped to ZG coin turn-in quests for the last two levels. With over 57,000
Crocolisco Zulian
kills, coins were in abundance and Zeegers didn't need to spend any additional gold acquiring these turn-in items. He turned in a staggering 625 sets of coins (1875 coins total) to fly through levels 58 and 59 in a matter of minutes, with the final level taking a mere 3 min 15 sec. He also utilized a WeakAura to auto-need the loot on his leveling alt and pass on the main doing the AoE grinding, saving precious minutes usually lost to looting items.
