In the past few days, many different community figures that attended the information summit at Blizzard revealed more details about WoW Classic. They were able to play a demo version of WoW Classic and ask the developers questions.
Below is a list of all known content creators that attended this event, followed by links to their coverage, plus a brief summary of the information disclosed by them. Please let us know if we missed any and we'd be happy to add!
Wowhead
We interviewed Lead Software Engineer Brian Birmingham and Production Director Patrick Dawson.
The Riding system will use the older system with race-based riding skills, not the modern system introduced in 1.12.1
Old-School Ride mounts will not be present in Classic WoW, not even for the early phases.
Extra bag slots from the authenticator are a BFA-perk only.
Armory/API support is planned, but likely not ready for launch.
If you have the original Collector’s Edition, you will unlock that special CE pet on your Classic WoW character.
BFA and Classic updates will likely not overlap or release on the same day.
The full Content Schedule will not be revealed before Classic Launch; it will be revealed on a phase-by-phase basis.

Esfand and StaySafe
Esfand and StaySafe interviewed Lead Software Engineer Brian Birmingham and Production Director Patrick Dawson.
Western Plaguelands, Hinterlands, SIlithus, and other zones that have quests were unlocked not at launch on Vanilla will likely be unlocked with their respective phase of content. For instance, it makes no sense to have Naxx quests available before Phase 6.
Thorium Point may be available at the start, the team hasn't decided yet and would love to know the community's opinion on that.
The old mount system (Cheap training, expensive mounts) will be in Classic the whole time, it won't change to the updated system from 1.12.1.
Layering
will be in place to reduce queue times at launch without increasing the number of servers. However, if demand is high, they might open additional servers.
Tips Out Baby
Tips interviewed Executive Producer John Hight and Senior Software Engineer Omar Gonzalez.
Stress tests will include larger pools of players, while normal Beta access will be limited.
Servers will have new names, to not create confusion from retail.
Layering
will be tested during the stress tests.
15th Anniversary rewards
won't be added to Classic, only retail.
However, pets from the original Vanilla Collector's Edition will be available in Classic.
Realm Transfers may be added to Classic later on, but no final decision yet.
Battlegrounds (when added) will be cross-realm, at they were cross-realm already in 1.12.
There are no plans to limit communication via Bnet between Horde and Alliance players. However, you won't be able to right-click someone from the opposite faction and add them to Bnet as you can in retail.
Conversations have already started about Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King servers, as long as there is a demand in the community.
Quissy
Quissy interviewed Ion Hazzikostas, Game Director of World of Warcraft & Calia Schie, Senior Game Producer at Blizzard Entertainment.
Blizzard doesn't want people to feel pressured to play and grind fast to participate on the content unlocked with new phases, thus the speed of the releases will depend a lot on the community.
They don't believe there is any eSports potential with Classic, but they are curious if anything could come out of it.
Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King servers are a possibility, it all depends on the community reception of Classic. However, right now their focus is getting Classic right.
We've covered the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King servers
in this article earlier this week
.
Vanion (German)
Vanion interviewd Ion Hazzikostas, Game Director of World of Warcraft, & Calia Schie, Senior Game Producer at Blizzard Entertainment.
Classic's communication team is the same as retail's. The difference is that, for Classic, the answers are usually easier and clear to share, while for retail much of it can be still not final or not ready to be shared with the community.
Classic will launch with as fewer servers as possible, to avoid needing to merge servers later, like happened with retail over the years. Classic will use
Layering
to make that possible.
Having a new Collector's Edition for Classic didn't feel right. Adding new assets doesn't fit the Classic mentality.
No customer services at launch. But Blizzard is listening to players' feedback as to where Classic should have character transfers or renames. Definitely no in-game shop with pets and mounts.
Classic will have its own forums, even with a separate forum for each realm.
Armory isn't 100% planned yet but is a possibility.
Level-cap will be increased throughout the Beta testing and there may be templates in order to test specific content later on.
Classic beta will be very small. The feedback necessary for Classic is different than, let's say BFA. They aren't looking for feedback whether the game is fun or balanced, they want to know if something is wrong or inconsistent compared to Vanilla or broken.

WoWChakra (Spanish)
WoWChakra interviewed Executive Producer John Hight and Senior Software Engineer Omar Gonzalez.
Retail and Classic can
not
be used at the same time by the same account.
There will be no WoW Token in Classic
The speed of release of the phases will depend on fast or slow the community progresses in the game.
There will be at least one RP server in Classic.
No balance will happen to the game, everything will be as 1.12, classes, bosses, and raids.

Forbes
Forbes interviewed Blizzard's President, J. Allen Brack.
WoW Classic is very close to J Allen Brack's heart
Classic has been an interesting experiment, allowing Blizzard to have different versions of WoW running on the same core engine.
Blizzard is unsure on the levels of interest that Classic will have, both in short and long terms.
With the core work done for Classic, it allows Blizzard to run different servers, maybe even The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King ones in the future. It all depends on the success of Classic and community demands.

DenofGeek
DenofGeek interview Brian Birmingham, Lead Software Engineer, and Patrick Dawson, Production Director.
The team considers having the bug of the Blood Plague back for Classic an "amusing idea". But no plans to announce yet.
There are no plans to make the original unarmored mounts available in Classic. Blizzard doesn't want to have players rush to get these, which would be the case if they added them briefly.
In-game report will stay in Classic. Abuses of the system will be reviewed and punished.
Content beyond Phase 6 (Naxx) is a possibility, "anything is on the table. This (Classic) is a love letter to our fans.". Blizzard isn't planning on it right now, but if the community wants it, they can talk about that.

USGamer
USGamer interviewed Classic technical lead Brian Birmingham and WoW production director Patrick Dawson.
Classic progression won't mirror Vanilla's, because that would mean introducing old bugs and balance changes that happened with every individual patch.
The main challenge for Blizzard on Classic was always the first "How do we actually do this?". Launching a 1.12 game as they had wouldn't fit any modern metrics in quality and security.
Some small cosmetic modern features were left in the Classic client, like mailboxes auto-complete name based on your friends' list, because they don't touch upon the core play of Classic.
Bugs that affected Gameplay, like Mages able to Polymorph each other, were recreated for Classic, but others, like Mages blinking in the bridge of Wetlands and falling to their deaths, weren't.
There are no current plans for content loops, with Classic going back to its first phase after Phase 6.
