WoW Classic Subreddit
recently hit 100,000 subs--congratulations for them!
The
mods shared some noteworthy subreddit stats
documenting the explosive growth since the Classic Beta announcement. Two trends we think are particularly interesting are pageviews and unique visitors.
For May 2019 the Classic Subreddit had roughly 15,000,000 pageviews, and the month isn't yet over. Looking at their past pageview history, we see that the winter was relatively quiet, with the hype starting up again in April. This graph roughly matches Wowhead's own growth trajectory for our
Classic site
, with rapid gains in April and a significant uptick in mid-May.
In addition to the subreddit providing information on Classic, it frequently discusses funny stream clips and reactions from the Classic Beta, which goes hand-in-hand with Classic's popularity on Twitch.
Another interesting stat is the number of unique visitors to the subreddit. Currently it hovers around 800,000, and could possibly be on track to reach 1 million. Based on the following graph, the previous record was set in November, when Blizzard released the Classic WoW demo. However, when we compared it to the pageview graph above, we see that November was not the record month for pageviews--it was April. This implies that the people interested in Classic WoW are regularly looking up more and more info as the release date approaches.
