Addon Usage
After installing the addon, you can enter the game, and you'll notice its effects already. Make sure you select
Load Anyways
if the game complains about out of date addons.
WeakAuras2 Classic, like its retail counterpart, allows players to create powerful quick-and-easy auras to track and notify their users about certain events happening, from DoT uptime, to cooldowns coming up, to boss timers, there are few things that you can't have a WeakAura for.

Importing WeakAuras
The best part of the addon, however, is that you can share WeakAuras easily, allowing everyone to use it, even if they are not proficient at coding. You can share Auras you created in-game by shift-clicking an Aura with your chat open, so it will be added in chat, allowing people that read it to import it from you.
However, the most common way to share Auras is to export it to text and then share in an outside source, like
Wago.io
, which has its own category for Classic WeakAuras now! You can grab the code to export your own Aura by right-clicking it and selecting
Export to String
.
To import someone else's Auras, you must copy the code from their Aura and paste it in the
Import
window of the New WeakAura menu. If done correctly, it will show a pop-up with details of the Aura, allowing you to import it.
How to Install Addons in WoW Classic
Installing addons in Classic follows the same flow as installing one manually in retail WoW. First, you must download the addon from
WoWInterface
or other Addon repositories. Then, you need to extract the addon in your Classic WoW folder, which will look something like this:
C:\World of Warcraft\_classic_\Interface\AddOns
Note that the interface folder won't exist if you haven't opened the Classic client in your computer yet.
If successful, a new button will appear when you reach the character screen, that is used to list all addons installed.
