Classic Season of Mastery's updated Blackwing Lair will release on
Thursday February 10th
, bringing in all new updated boss fights and mechanics. Wowhead previously covered
some of the bosses
and in the latest PTR update, Blizzard has finished updating all bosses. Today, we're taking a look at Ebonroc, Flamegor, and Nefarian.
Warcraft Logs - Ebonroc/Flamegor, Nefarian
All the Class Calls on Nefarian at once! You
WILL DIE
if this ever happens!
Updated Ebonroc and Flamegor
The new Ebonroc and Flamegor mechanic is quite something, as both bosses will pull together and act somewhat like a miniature Four Horsemen. Ebonroc casts
Marca de sombra
periodically, and Flamegor casts
Marca de llama
, which deals damage as you accrue more and more debuff stacks.

To make matters worse, if you kill one Drake too quickly, the other will
Enrage
, meaning the Drakes need to be killed roughly at the same time. If you have any experience with Four Horsemen, you'll be relatively comfortable in this new encounter, as your healers and tanks will need to be assigned a rotation, to ensure there is always a tank and some healers on each boss.
Some tanks will be on "reserve" waiting out of reach of both debuffs, prepared to step in when needed. Lastly, melee damage dealers can utilize the
Festín de alas
to their advantage, using the knock back to quickly travel to the other Drake when they reach 4 stacks of the debuff.
Updated Nefarian
Nefarian is extremely difficult, as the first thing you'll notice is the adds spawn during the add phase
incredibly quickly
and will definitely wipe raids that aren't prepared. The fight plays out like the previous Nefarian encounter, except each class call has been heavily buffed to do some
very surprising
things.
The first thing to note is the new area effects last much longer than the normal class call duration, so you will often times see two or even three class calls all happening at the same time.
Nightmare Brambles during Druid Class Call
Druida
Class Call
During the Druid class call, Druids will still be put in Cat form like normal, but
Zarzas de la Pesadilla
will spawn on the ground and roam around. If these Nightmare Brambles touch a player, they will be rooted and take nature damage over time. The
Zarzas de la Pesadilla
debuff can easily be dispelled by a Cleanse and isn't much of a problem. However, it can become a problem if other class calls are up simultaneously.
Corrupted Shots firing during Hunter Class Call
Cazador
Class Call
The Hunter class call will destroy the ranged weapon like normal, but will also spawn copies of the Hunter's weapons that cast
Disparo corrupto
on the raid. A target reticle will appear somewhere and a brief moment later, a giant red laser will fire outward. This gives players time to avoid the damage from Corrupted Shot. This is the highest damage dealing class call, by the way (
average hits range from 800 to 1400 damage
).
Mago
Class Call
During the Mage class call, Mages will cast
Polomorfia salvaje
like normal, but wands will also appear that cast
Deflagración Arcana
over and over. The damage dealt from this effect isn't that much (
350
) but it does have a knock back effect, which can interrupt casting and cause the fight to get a bit hectic.
Paladín
Class Call
The Paladin class call will cast
Bendición de protección mejorada
on Nefarian just as before, but there will also be swords that cast
Consagración
all around the room. These have very large areas and
deal about 200 damage per tick
.
Mind Flays target players during Priest Class Call
Sacerdote
Class Call
The Priest class call will cause
Curación corrupta
like normal, but also spawn shadow orbs that cast
Despelleje mental
on nearby players. Players will need to move away from this as quickly as possible, even while slowed, and potentially get a spot heal or two. If this spawns near the tank, melee will likely just have to move out.
Corrupted Weapons attack players during Rogue Class Call
Pícaro
Class Call
Like normal, the Rogues will be teleported in front of Nefarian, which requires the tank to turn the boss away so the Rogues can avoid the Cleave damage. While that is happening, copies of the Rogue's weapons will spawn as
, which casts
Arma corrupta
.
Arma corrupta
is a spell with a 50 yard range, that deals shadow damage to the player it targets.
Bouncing Bolt during Shaman Class Call
Chamán
Class Call
The Shaman class call is fairly unique in comparison to other class calls,
Descarga saltarina
will spawn and bounce around the room. Anyone near the bouncing bolt when it lands will receive the debuff
Pulso de relámpagos
, which does the following "Inflicts Nature damage to nearby enemies every 1 sec for 15 sec. In addition, movement speed, attack speed, and cast speed are increased by 30%." With this debuff, players will deal damage to nearby allies with
Pulso de relámpagos
, which bounces to additional players like Chain Lightning.
Corrupted Coils during Warlock Class Call from
Twitch user iamdltn perspective
Brujo
Class Call
Easily the most exciting class call of them all, Warlocks will spawn shadow orbs that cast
Espiral corrupta
in random directions that travels slowly. Players will need to "bullet hell" dance between the coils to avoid taking damage from the effect. This damage isn't much,
only about 300 damage per coil
, but it is quite exciting to see it the first time.
Guerrero
Class Call
Lastly, Warriors will go into Berserker Stance like normal, and like Rogues will also cast clones of their weapons as
. These Warrior weapons have two abilities,
Embestir
and
Embate corrupto
. The Corrupted Slam is a 3 second cast that applies a two second stun. These weapons also melee for about
800 damage
.
