A few days ago, a random post on the
r/classicwow
subreddit got a lot of attention. A user named LiterallyABlackBear, excited about Classic's launch, posted which name he was planning on getting, Thex, a troll shaman. The thread got a lot of popularity, which lead to many users teasing him by saying they would steal his name during name reservation.
Guys. Classic launch is only 4 weeks away - which is still a considerable amount of time. However, I had totally forgotten about the character creation in two weeks! This drove my hype WAY up. We're so close.
Have you decided on your characters and names? If so, what are they?
I am Thex, Troll Shaman. I still have yet to figure out my alts.
However, it seems that, in the end, Blizzard was the one that stole his name. The latest PTR build added an NPC named
Thex
, a troll shaman that is hanging around the back bank of Orgrimmar, a likely tribute to the Reddit user.
The NPC has the following dialogue:
I be Thex, troll shaman, dere be no others like me.
Long ago, a mighty troll was born. Dey named him Thex.
Dat be me.
Da real Thex be standin' here, mon.
At da end of da day, we all be Thex.
