Import Your WoW Classic Character's Gear and Talents Onto Wowhead

We're happy to announce that you can now import your Classic WoW character directly onto Wowhead's
Gear Planner
. While there is no official API provided by Blizzard, players that use the
Wowhead Client
can view their characters on the site.
There are a few steps involved as there's no API to make it automatic, but it's still fairly painless:
Run the
Wowhead Client
Log in to the game, make sure the looter addon is running
Play for a bit
Log out of the game
Upload dataz via the client
You must have 'Upload character data' checked in the Client Options and you must upload after each time logging out for the site to be updated accordingly with your latest gear.
After completing those steps, when you visit the
Classic Gear Planner
, you can click on the Import button to select your Classic WoW characters.
If you do not use the Wowhead Client and follow the directions, you cannot import your characters.
This will load up your character's gear setup, enchants, and talents. You can then hit the "Save" button to permanently save your character on Wowhead and share it with your friends in our
Gear Set Database
...or continue modifying your gear setup in the tool to anticipate gear upgrades.
When we learned there would not be support for a character API at WoW Classic launch, we started work on an alternate solution to display characters on Wowhead and we hope you enjoy this site update!
