Classic Gear Planner Updates - Random Enchantments, Gear Set Database for Saved Sets

We're back with another round of
Classic Gear Planner
updates before the launch of Classic WoW! Last week we updated the planner with
Talents, Enchants. and Item Filters
and now we're back with random enchantments and a new gear set database for saved sets.

Random Enchantments
You can now select random enchantments on BoEs in the
Gear Planner
! Selecting a suffix will update the paper doll and stats accordingly. Do note that some items that have unique suffix groups may still be lacking all of them, as we haven't received any client data on them. As more people use the Wowhead Client, the random enchantment list will expand.
Don't forget, a few days ago we also added the option to
see random enchantments on database pages
.
Gear Set Database
When we launched the Classic Gear Planner, we built-in an auto-save option. Whenever you equipped a new piece of gear, the URL updated, which could then be linked to friends. However, many players requested a way of viewing the saved sets on Wowhead. So we've created a new
Gear Set Database
where you can save your set to the site along with a custom name. All saved sets can then be browsed at
https://classic.wowhead.com/gear-sets
and filtered by name, class, race, and level.
To save a set, just hit the red "Save" button towards the top right of the tool. You'll then be prompted to enter a name for your set. We've also received feedback that some people want an easy way to reach the model viewer, so we've added in a "View 3D" link to preview the appearance.
At the time of writing this post, we have over 300 sets saved--without any public announcements. Thanks everyone for using the tool and showing your support!
What's Next?
Stat Weights
: Still working on stat weights, both for the gear planner and item database filters.
Enchant Phase Filters
: We're working on adding phase filters to the enchant picker, but this is taking a little longer than anticipated as we first need to expand our phase filtering system to account for spells, not just items.
Advanced Stat Display
: Players are asking for more stats, such as spellpower for each school of magic.
Bug Reports
: We're continuing to review the bug reports sent to for stats and talents, but do keep in mind that some talents require you to have a weapon equipped for the stat gain.
