Q: What is your favorite place in all of Warcraft. It doesn't have to be a place in the film, just from any part of the lore and games. Also, I'm dying over how cute Draka and Durotan are. I've always loved them in the lore but on screen I'm so excited to see them together! I'm so excited to see the movie
A: I am so glad that you are liking the portrayal of Durotan and Draka. I shouldn't play favorites, but they are my favorite characters too. I am a big fan of the Lion's Pride Tavern only because the set was phenomenal and I would have loved to have done the wrap party there. Maybe Universal Studios will make a Lion's Pride Tavern on City Walk one day.
Q: Hey Duncan, could you give us a hint at what your favorite scene in the film is? Was there anything cut that you wish had stayed?
A: I don't want to spoil anything by giving you a favorite scene, but I will tell you one particular thing I would have loved to kept in the cut. Chesney Hawkes medieval rendition of his song The One and Only.
Q: Hi Duncan, hope your well. Do you hope to release an ultimate extended edition to show your full vision? Thanks!
A: As with any film, you edit things down as you create the story in the first place, whether it's in the writing or in the editing itself. We shot a lot of scenes which we ended up not using in the cut. It could be fun to put some of those scenes back in for the serious fans.
Q: What new things will warcraft bring into the fantasy movies genre? What fresh elements did you want to introduce that you had felt it lacked.
A: Peter Jackson set the bar with Lord of the Rings, but in Tolkein's universe, humans and cute creatures are the good guys. Anything ugly is a bad guy. With Warcraft, I think part of that game's DNA is to show that heros can come from all sides.
