A Tank to hold threat, absorb damage, and prevent the enemy mobs from killing the DPS and healer. A Tank Warrior with a shield using proper threat-generatig abilities like Rüstung zerreißen and Schildschlag is a popular choice for tanking. Check out our Tank Warrior Rotation Advice to familiarize yourself with important abilities before tanking a dungeon.

Three DPS to deal the majority of damage to enemies and bosses. All classes can deal damage, but the most popular DPS classes while leveling are Mage, Warrior, Rogue, Warlock, and Hunter. Hybrids can DPS, but they will usually end up healing.

A Healer to keep the party alive and resurrect dead players. A Healing Priest is a popular option for healing due to their versatile toolkit and buffs like Machtwort: Seelenstärke, but Druids, Paladins, and Shaman can also heal.

"Like previous bosses in the dungeon, Bazzalan is flanked by two mobs. However, the mob on HIS left can be pulled without engaging the boss, significantly reducing the difficulty of the fight."
i'm pretty sure there is something wrong in the text about mr. smite

Kommentar von Augur89

"Once both of the adds are dealt with, the fight is a simple tank-and-spank mechanically."
If I remember correctly, the Van Cleef fight is not as simple as the guide makes out to be. Similar to Mr. Smite, he will spawn adds at certain HP thresholds (50%?), overwhelming a party that just focuses on bringing his health down as soon as possible.

I'm confused about the Smite fight. In the first paragraph, it says "Mr. Smite will engage automatically as you approach the plank leading up to him. Pulling with him will be 2 Defias Blackguard, who are invisible before the pull." But in the last paragraph, it says "Like previous bosses in the dungeon, Mr. Smite is flanked by two mobs. However, the mob on HIS left can be pulled without engaging the boss, significantly reducing the difficulty of the fight." (emphasis added).

This seems contradictory -- how do you pull a mob that is invisible until the boss is engaged before you engage the boss? Or do you mean they are stealthed but targetable (and the one of the left can be pulled) before the boss is engaged, and then come out of stealth when the boss is engaged? TIA for clearing this up. :)

The Deadmines is a level 18-23 dungeon

Having crowd control is highly recommended in The Deadmines as some of the pulls can contain a mob of 5-6 enemies. Some examples of good crowd control to use are:

Priester - Gedankenkontrolle

You recommend priests use a spell they get at level 30 for this level 18-23 dungeon? Interesting.

You foget to add item begins a quest "An Unsent Letter" which drop from Van Cliff. Quest channel from this item is very good.

Just a note, for the "Underground Assault" quest, you don't have to speak to Gnoarn in Ironforge. You can simply grab the quest in Stormwind. This is most helpful for players questing in that area, so they don't have to spend extra time on the tram.

Kommentar von Bababooie

Under the "Notable BoE drops" you put "Blackened Defias Armor", which is BoP, just saying this in case someone reads that and believes they can send it to a friend or alt so they "NEED" it.

But thank you for the guide, the loot tables helped me.

Kommentar von PRocque

The pin tooltip on the map lists the entrance to Deadmines as being "West Entrance of Orgrimmar." It's so far west it's east? ;-)

Still a great guide, though!

Kommentar von LittleRoss

Hi everyone, what is the lowest level to enter deadmines as priest? I have a friend who lvl 24 druid able to tank. We both started in Vanilla, opinions?

Kommentar von Berylin

The remote-controlled golems, once summoned, will remain even if the summoner is killed. It still makes sense to kill the summoner first, to prevent any more remote controlled golems from appearing. However, it was a very unpleasant surprise to discovered that as tank I had to hunt down the golem(s) after the summoner(s) were dead.
