Theotar Party Favors Update - The Mad Duke's Tea Now Lasts 4 Hours and Persists Through Death
With today's Patch 9.1 release candidate build, we have a handful of spell changes, including an update to Theotar's
. The buff granted by
has had its duration extended to four hours and now persists through death, making it far more appropriate for competitive content.
Previously, the Venthyr Soulbind trait suffered a number of issues: lasting only an hour and being removed on death made it difficult to use effectively in any serious content, though players worked around this limitation by mailing themselves multiple copies of the unbound item. Today's changes make it much less gimmicky, allowing you to gain a buff for four hours, which is long enough to cover most gameplay sessions or raids, then use
again to get a new buff after the one hour cooldown (in case the buff is cancelled to remove it early, keeping players from cancel-rerolling to game the buff type). The full changes to
are as follows:
Now persists through death.
Duration increased to 4 hours (up from 1 hour).
The item is not consumed on use, and has a one hour cooldown (down from once per day).
Unique and BoP (meaning only one can be held at a time and it may not be traded or mailed).
The effect is removed upon changing Soulbinds, so you cannot use the Tea and then change to Nadjia or Draven to benefit from both. It does, however, persist through changing specs.
The buff can be applied when different soulbinds are active, but will be removed after a few seconds.
