Demon Invasion Preview: Stand Against the Legion
Legion Invasion Testing is now in progress for beta testers, running until 2pm PDT on Friday, June 10th. The stress test realm is buggy, as to be expected, but here's what we've found completing the invasions and fighting the Burning Legion. There are six zones you can encounter an invasion in. Invasions will be available in the Legion prepatch and do not require players to have completed Broken Shore questlines.

Not all invasions will be up at the same time. To see if an invasion is active, go to that particular map and see if the "Under Invasion" text is up, or look on a continent's map.
Each invasion is a group scenario with multiple stages:
Stage 1: Defend an Invasion Point, like Kharanos in
or the Crossroads in Northern Barrens.
Stage 2: Defeat the Demon Commander as well as two lieutenants.
Stage 3: Repel the Legion forces around the zone. You can open up your map to see where the enemies are. Progress is granted by killing mobs and saving friendly wounded NPCs.
Stage 4: Defeat a boss NPC at the Invasion Point. These bosses are quite challenging, with strong attacks like

You will be fighting with the opposite faction to take down the Demonic Threat, and some faction leaders may also help out, like Trade Prince Gallywix in Azshara, Marin Noggenfogger in Tanaris, and Muradin and Moira in Dun Morogh. You can hop in vehicles like Demolishers in Azshara and Mechatanks in Dun Morogh to help speed up combat. There are also special objects you can throw to deal more damage, like bombs in Dun Morogh.

Nethershards are earned for different parts of the event, 260 per event:
Completing Stage 1 rewards 15
after Stage 2 contains 35
Completing Stage 3 rewards 60
Completing the invasion rewards 60
after Stage 4 contains 90
You can redeem Nethershards at Illidari camps, which are found in invasion zones as well as Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
Nethershards are used to purchase special items from camps.

The Large chest can also drop
