Following Wednesday's major alpha build, a small update has been deployed with some exciting changes.
Pepe is joining us in Legion as an
Artifact Weapon
whose traits unlock tons of new costumes! Players hyped about the Old Gods and the latest Hearthstone expansion will be intrigued to find the link between the Old Gods and Darkmoon Faire strengthened in this build as well. Many players will also rejoice to learn that the Garrison is set on fire.
Finally, with Overwatch looming on the horizon, Blizzard has a special in-game event planned for players to collect some Overwatch-themed transmog and pets.
Oh and...APRIL FOOLS! The Wowhead staff hopes our jokes made you smile. Learn more about
Blizzard's own April 1st jokes here
.
Update: As part of returning to our regular data updates, the April 1st data has been removed from the site. Links in the post below may appear broken, but we have taken screenshots of the original article so you can still enjoy the jokes.
Pepe Artifact Calculator
Pepe was spotted in the
Rogue Order Hall in Legion
but that wasn't enough! With Transmog Collections coming in Legion, Pepe has collected another round of costumes so he's ready to sit on your head in style for the expansion. The best part?
is an artifact in Legion and you'll be able to spend spare Artifact Power on traits for costumes. The starting trait,
, will even add Pepe to your own Order Hall!
has been added to the Artifact Calculator;

to spec out your costume path.
Pepe's new costumes span a variety of themes, including nods to other Blizzard games:
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like Ganymede, Bastion's friend.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like a nobile Highlord.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like a Firelord.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like a Celestial.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like an Ally of Nightmare.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like the Immortal King.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like your friendly Innkeeper.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like a moose.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like a murloc.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes manifest as the Sha of Pepe.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like a vampiric bat.
: When summoned, Pepe will sometimes be dressed like a minion of N'Zoth.
We also have a model preview of some of Pepe's stylish new appearances:
Darkmoon Faire Old Gods Updates
We've previously
noted the similarities between the Darkmoon Faire and Old Gods
. Each time we see the Whispers of the Old Gods logo with the blinking eyeballs, it makes us think of the Darkmoon Faire sign.
Our suspicions were correct; tragedy strikes the Darkmoon Faire sign, which breaks and no longer can blink. The quest
humorously implies that the Old Gods are sponsoring the Darkmoon Faire.
Our sign is broken! The eyeball is stuck and won't blink anymore! Our masters... I mean, our sponsors, are going to be really upset if they find out. They always whisper that proper logos are important for branding.
The materials to fix the sign aren't anything too fancy... are you up for a quick trip to Ahn'Qiraj and Ulduar? <Name>, speak to Professor Thaddeus Paleo if you'd be interested.
The Old Gods also visit the Darkmoon Faire in the patch:
is a battle pet from Darkmoon Isle. When the adorable artwork was revealed as part of a Hearthstone card, players began clamoring for this creature to show up as a pet or a plush. Unsurprisingly,
is best friends with Pepe...they know how effective being cute is when it comes to getting power!
萨杜斯·帕雷教授
also sells the new vanity item
. Currently in-game, he's the NPC who helps you complete your Darkmoon Decks for trinkets, but also has a slip-of-the-tongue implying that he works for a more sinister group.
Oh and please let me know if you manage to collect a set of the lesser Darkmoon cards, as the master...I mean I would be keenly interested in them.
Garrison Bonfire Bonanza
Many players have been curious what will happen to our Garrisons in Legion. Will we hand them off to our most trusted follower, or will the Garrison suffer an attack?
The mission
offers some answers. Your Garrison is set on fire and your followers celebrate before making their great escape by...what else? Completing a mission. Your followers go up against the Shipyard, Mine, and Salvage Yard--while the Shipyard comes with naval threats they can't counter, their escape will be successful as the start chance is at 100%.
The mission rewards the junk item
and we've also datamined another junk item,
. Now we know what happens to all the untouched stacks of
一大箱回收物资
in our bags.
Finally, since your followers have made their escape and you have dozens of follower tokens lying around, the
平衡武器附魔
and
强固护甲附魔
have been updated to increase either your follower's item level,
or your own
item level. This should be a good catch-up mechanism for alts at the start of Legion.
Overwatch In-Game Event
Overwatch is Blizzard's newest game, launching in May. We've already seen the publicity blitz begin though with the "Recall" cinematic for Winston, the Baby Winston plush, Overwatch Origins, and Tracer in Heroes of the Storm. It's not surprising that Overwatch will make its way to Warcraft with an in-game promotion in May:
魔兽世界周年庆典
!
So far it looks like there will be transmog items based off iconic armor and weapons (
,
,
) as well as a friend for
小温斯顿
,
