This equip tooltip implies that its a flat 45 to lesser heal, negating the 42% reduction in efficiency.

When in fact, its more like +45healing restricted to lesser heal =/

I thought it was more like +90 heal WITH the 42% reduct in healing (ala normal +healing items)

What a ripoff.

Totems/Relics/Librams IGNORE casting time restrictions on the +dmg/heal system. It's already been said by several CMs on the WOW forums in threads on the same subject. It's a FLAT +45 to the Lesser Healing Wave spell itself.

Iz says up to x... so you would think the real value is not what it says on the totem.

But since it only works on lesser healing wave, the cast time is fixed. So why wouldn't it be the exact number as stated on the item?

The relic items that increase damage or healing from specific spells shouldn't be subject to the cast time rules because they are for 1 spell which will always have the same cast time. That being said, the item descriptions are worded "up to", so here's my guess (notice I said guess, not fact, don't flame me if I'm wrong): Your melee weapon does (example) 100-150 damage when you swing it, which means the game does a dice roll to determine how much damage you do each time you swing. I'm guessing these items are basically the same, every time you use the spell listed on your relic, the game does a dice roll to see how much damage or healing to add to that spell - up to the specified ammount.

Why are people adding new theories on this?

Its on the same principle as the other +damage/heal items.

More plus healing for your LHW is still better then another 55 armor from the paladin one. I'm sure you would agree that stacking + healing and adding lets say an average of 23+Healing off that Totem is still better then .5% armor for you.

Why are you guys even !@#$%ing anyway? There are glitches in the hole game and if it says LHW and doesnt give you the full amount its because theres probly a glitch and its so small anyway that blizz wont fix it....go out get ur combat tab up throw a bunch of LHWs and test the theory instead of sitting here adding your two cents when you dont even know for sure whats goin on...most these ppl just like to hear themselves talk all day

what is it with those +spell dam/healing rules?
its written on the items, "up to X" means that it's differrent from each spellcast. Like the LHW is from X to X (depending on rank), then it will incease LHW with something between 1 and 45 (included 1 and 45*)

From patch 1.11 this is changed to

"Equip: Increases healing done by Lesser Healing Wave by up to 80."

..bit of a boost!

I play a shaman and yes i got this totem, i was in scholomance earlier today and the blue totem with +53to LHW dropped and i got really pissed off lol, first of all i hadnt seen that they had changed totem of life to +80 instead of +45 so i just thought WTF my epic dropps in aq40....and this wich is better dropps from scholomance lol. i realized a bit after wards that mine has been upgraded a bit to say the least hehe and now im rather happy with having spent all my DKP for this totem =)

Even though it's only applied to one spell it is roughly four times the plus healing of any wand in the game.

Its only an Shaman item - see the description: Relic -> Totem and the "lesser healing" only a shaman can do it, right?
So yes, it drops by Fankriss in AQ 40.
