Dropped off of Chromaggus in Black Wing Lair. This is one of the favorite shields for warriors up into Naxx due to the massive amount of armor, block, and stamina. Also one of the coolest.

Yeah, this is one of Chromaggus' rarer drops; to my guild anyway. This is pretty close to the shield that drops in AQ40, the one from the arnaments quest.

One of the best shields pre-tbc, sadly enough you can get an equivalent really fast in the form of Shield of the Wayward Footman:

Hm... I'm a little confused why it says "Equip: Increases the block value of your shield by 19." on a shield once again...
Why don't they add the +Block-Value stat directly on the blocking stat of the shield?

Anyway, it's probably the best shield atm, isn't it?

omg pallys get a grip on yourselves. theres much much better PALADIN shields out there. Check out the one off Rag or the +healing shield that drops in BWL. Not everything is for us, some of you are making us look bad. Granted this shield is really cool and if there isnt a warrior bidding on it and its going to be wasted sure id us DKP on....but this is most definitly warrior priority.

I can gaurantee that everytime I click on a item, i will see several posts that say "hunter weapon" and then all the arguements about what class should get it. Why even bother posting it? It ALL got old, like, during the beta. Even the people who say the others should stop just say the same thing over and over again. "Hunter weapon" "STFU HUNTER YOU ARE SO LAME GROW UP!" Guess what, in the time it took you to post that, just as in the time it is taking me to post this, you could have gained a bar of experience, or made a few gold. Stop wasting precious game time squabbling with people you will never meet, over items that are in a "game", aka NOT REALLY THAT IMPORTANT, and go play for awhile.

I'm a pally and this shield is truely for warriors. I would never roll on this with a warrior in the group.

I have a 60 Paladin, 26 Shaman, and 21 Warrior. Granted the last 2 can't use this item yet, but if they could...I'd only roll if I was playing my Warrior. The shield I have now on my Pally does more for her than this shield. It might as well not HAVE stats!

My Pally has the shield that you get for completing the quest Order Must Be Restored. It's blue, has around 3/4 the armor of this shield, and has Paladin/Shaman-friendly stats.

And Horde gets it through a quest given by the guy I had to kill to get it. Ironic, huh?

it dont really matter, if you see this drop, youre in a guild that knows who this is gonna go to. any pally who complains about not getting it is most likely
A. level 30
B. in a guild that will never see Chromaggus
c. in a guild that will never be endgame in general
D. all of the above

This is the best PvP and PvE shield in the game. It beats out the immovable object by quite a bit in armor, block value, and stamina. The immovable object comes in second for PvP.

We don't even let non prot-spec warriors on this... it's soooo bloody rare, it only goes to our most reliable, signature tanks. This is the shield for the tank who doesn't own a 2-Hander, who WANTS to tank all the time. Paladins... no... they have Malistar's and Red Dragonscale Protector available (and both drop for us all the time). DPS warriors... they can get their Aegis of the Blood God from ZG or stick to their Drillboarers.

For our raid group, at least in the short-term, this thing is going to the MT and OT above anyone else.

You're going to have your hands full cleansing/healing/judging. Don't even think about taking on the role of tank unless you're short on warriors that night and have a surplus of healers. Even then, you'll never tank a boss. Maybe that one in MC right before rag where there's like 8 things to be tanked, but other than that, nothing I've ever seen would be tankable by a pally.

This shield doesn't even have any pally stats except for stamina. I would take a sacred protector over this, unless every single warrior in the raid had one. Then I could add it to my tanking stuff (which I only use for scholo/strat or other 5-10 mans, and lately not even those since I started raiding.)

Yes, pallies can tank. But, any pally that sees this shield will not need it for what they're doing.

In the picture it says "Increased defense +10" but at the top that is "7".

Beats Drillborer Disk of course, more Armor, has +defense, great blocked damage - and not to be mistaken, 23 stamina, if you're going for a max Stamina setup, this will do well to your set :)

1 Shield in 4 months. Went to a raid logging loot @#$%^ who thankfully is no longer in the guild. Don't you just love the oodles of garbage they pile on these mobs and slap a high drop % on? :)

What is the point of having a 54 Block value and an additional "Equip: Increases the block value of your shield by 19" effect, instead of simply a base 73 Block value?
