WoW Classic Warlock Demons
Obtaining and summoning Demons is an iconic part of the Warlock Classic in Classic WoW.
Warlocks have access to many different demons, with different capabilities and different uses. Unlike Hunter Pets, Warlock Demons are much less complex - You do not need to feed them or keep them happy, as they're merely servants ready to do your bidding.
With the exception of the Imp, all Warlock Demons require a
Soul Shard
to summon. Only one demon may be active at a time, with your current summoned Demon despawning once you start invoking another one. If you take a flight path while you have a Demon out, the Demon will despawn, but you'll get the Soul Shard spent on the Demon back.
Obtaining Demons in Classic WoW
To obtain a Demon in Classic WoW, you first need to learn how to summon one. Starting at certain levels, you are able to embark in quests that will lead you around Azeroth gathering reagents to summon that Demon. After you gather every required reagent, you are then to return to your trainer and then required to defeat the Demon in combat, to subdue the demon to your will.
The only Demon you won't directly learn from quests is the Imp, as you'll learn it when you first talk to your Class Trainer in your starting zone.

Demon Spells in Classic WoW
As you level up in Classic WoW, so do your Demons. Unlike Hunter pets, which need to be leveled separately, your Demons will level up together with you. Like yourself, your Demons are also able to learn new spells as they level up.
However, instead of talking to a trainer to learn spells, you will need to purchase Grimoires for Demon spells.
Demon Trainers
can be found in most capital cities, close to the Warlock trainers. Grimoires cost slightly less than a Warlock spell of the same level.
To teach your demon a new spell, simply invoke the demon and use the purchased Grimoire. The spell's new rank should be automatically added to the demon's pet bar. Please note that you are not required to purchase every single rank of a specific spell - If you're higher level, you are able to skip ranks of certain spells and save some gold in the process.
Best Demons for Classic WoW
Below is a list of what situations each subdued demon is best suited for.
召唤小鬼
is best used for the initial steps of leveling, as well as the demon of choice when you need one out for dungeons and raids, thanks in part of the Stamina buff provided by
. When used in dungeons, the Imp is pretty much only there for the Stamina buff, and thanks to
, it does not need any upkeep at all.
召唤虚空行者
is best used for situations where you need a tank to divert attacks from you, although the Voidwalker does not generate that much threat. It can also be a useful Demon in World PvP - The Voidwalker does not deal that much damage, but the massive shield provided by
can be the difference between life and death for you.
召唤魅魔
is the best leveling pet for Warlocks, as it deals the highest amount of damage and has a large mana pool that can be abused with
. With
次级隐形术
coupled with
诱惑
, the Succubus can also be a nasty surprise against attackers in World PvP who might think you're alone.
召唤地狱猎犬
is the best World PvP pet for Warlocks - With high base spell resistances,
法术封锁
and
, the Felhunter is extremely nasty against casters. Rogues also have a hard time against Warlocks with Felhunters out, thanks to
increasing the Warlock's stealth detection, and making it that much more difficult for a Rogue to jump on a Warlock.
Subdued Demons
Subdued demons are demons that, when invoked, are already bound to your will and ready to be used.
Imp
The Imp is the first Demon you're able to learn when you first talk to your Class Trainer in any starting area. Imps are extremely fragile demons, and as such, they prefer attacking from range and are the only Warlock demons to do so. Imps are the preferred Demon for raid utility and dungeon running.
When the Imp is sacrificed via
, you will gain the
effect, increasing Fire damage done by 15% for 30 minutes.
The spells the Imp is able to learn are:
: Deals Fire damage from a long distance to the target.
New Firebolt ranks are available at levels 1, 8, 18, 28, 38, 48 and 58.
: Increases the Stamina of all nearby party members.
New Blood Pact ranks are available at levels 4, 14, 26, 38 and 50.
: The Imp shifts out of phase with the world, rendering it invulnerable and unattackable. Breaks once the Imp starts attacking.
Phase Shift's only rank is available at level 12.
: Surrounds the target in a shield of Fire. Every time the target is hit, it will cause Fire damage to the attacker. Lasts 3 minutes.
New Fire Shield ranks are available at levels 14, 24, 34, 44 and 54.
Voidwalker
Unlike the Imp, the Voidwalker is an incredibly sturdy Demon, being able to take heavy amounts of punishment, keep the attention from mobs onto itself, and even healing his own wounds. The Voidwalker is best used in situations where you do not want to take damage from mobs.
You're able to learn the Voidwalker with a quest available from Class Trainer in most capital cities starting at level 10. When the Voidwalker is sacrificed via
, you will gain the
effect, restoring 3% of your total Health every 4 seconds for 30 minutes.
The spells the Voidwalker is able to learn are:
: Taunts a target, increasing the chance that it will attack the Voidwalker.
New Torment ranks are available at levels 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60.
: Sacrifices the Voidwalker, killing it and granting a shield onto the Warlock. While the shield holds, spellcasting is not interrupted by damage.
New Sacrifice ranks are available at levels 16, 24, 32, 40, 48 and 56.
: Heals the Voidwalker over a few seconds. Cannot be used while in combat.
New Consume Shadows ranks are available at levels 18, 26, 34, 42 and 50.
: Taunts all targets around the Voidwalker, increasing the chance that they will attack the Voidwalker.
New Suffering ranks are available at levels 24, 36, 48 and 60.
Succubus
The Succubus is the Warlock Demon that deals the most damage out of the Subdued Demon options - As she's able to continue attack even while out of Mana, she can deal more damage than both the Imp and the Felhunter. Her PvP utility is also pretty unmatched, with a strong CC ability in the form of Seduction.
You're able to learn the Succubus with a quest available from Class Trainer in most capital cities starting at level 20. When the Succubus is sacrificed via
, you will gain the
, increasing Shadow damage done by 15% for 30 minutes.
The spells the Succubus is able to learn are:
: Deals Shadow damage to a target.
New Lash of Pain ranks are available at levels 20, 28, 36, 44, 52 and 60.
鞭打
: Soothes a target, reducing threat the Succubus has on the target.
New Soothing Kiss ranks are available at levels 22, 34, 46 and 58.
诱惑
: Seduces a target, preventing it from taking any actions for up to 15 seconds. Any damage will break the effect. Only works on Humanoids.
Seduction's only rank is available at level 26.
次级隐形术
: Renders the Succubus invisible. Can only be used out of combat, and breaks with damage or when the Succubus attacks. Lasts 5 minutes.
Lesser Invisibility's only rank is available at level 32.
Felhunter
The last subdued Demon the Warlock can use is the Felhunter. The Felhunter is a melee attacker that has a lot of innate Resistances and attacks that disrupt casters, and as such, it is the best option in PvP against caster targets, or simply dealing with caster mobs overall.
You're able to learn the Felhunter with a quest available from Class Trainer in most capital cities starting at level 30. When the Felhunter is sacrificed via
, you will gain the
effect, restoring 2% of your total Mana every 4 seconds for 30 minutes.
The spells the Felhunter is able to learn are:
: Purges a beneficial magic effect from the target. If an effect is purged, the Felhunter heals for a bit.
New Devour Magic ranks are available at levels 30, 38, 46 and 54.
: Taints the Felhunter's blood. When the Felhunter is hit by a melee attack, the attacker will lose Attack Power for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 10 times. Effect lasts for 1 minute.
New Tainted Blood ranks are available at levels 32, 40, 48 and 56.
法术封锁
: Silences an enemy for 3 seconds. If used on a target casting a spell, it also prevents the target from using spells from that school of magic for a few seconds.
New Spell Lock ranks are available at levels 36 and 52.
: Increases the Stealth detection of all party members within 30 yards of the Felhunter.
Paranoia's only rank is available at level 42.
Controllable Demons
Controllable demons are demons that, when invoked, need to be controlled by using
and can only be kept under control for a limited amount of time, before it becomes too difficult to control them via Enslave Demon (as demons grow more resistant to Enslave Demon the more times you enslave them).
These demons are obtainable at very high levels, are locked behind difficult high-level quests or drops, and due to the nature of
, are not as strong as similar leveled, un-enslaved Demons.
Infernal
The first controllable demon the Warlock can use is the Infernal. The Infernal can be summoned from the spell
召唤地狱火
, which uses an
地狱火石
from Reagent Vendors instead of a Soul Shard. The
召唤地狱火
is a reward from the class quest
. Inferno has a 1 hour cooldown.
When initially summoned, the Infernal will be under the control of the Warlock for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, the Infernal will break from the Warlock's enslave, and to be controlled again it must be enslaved with
, becoming harder and harder to control the more you enslave the Infernal.
When the Inferno spell is performed, a meteor will fall from the sky at the target location, stunning all enemies in the location for 2 seconds. The Infernal will then rise from the meteor and attack any nearby enemies, as well as dealing Fire damage as an AoE to any nearby enemies.
Doomguard
The second controllable demon the Warlock can use is the Doomguard. The Doomguard can be summoned from the spell
召唤末日守卫
, which uses an
恶魔雕像
from Reagent Vendors instead of a Soul Shard. You can obtain Ritual of Doom by either farming a
魔典:厄运仪式
from elite Demons in the Blasted Lands, or completing a class quest that will first become available in Phase 2. Ritual of Doom has a 1 hour cooldown.
To summon a Doomguard, you will need a full party of 5 players. When using the spell, a ritual altar will spawn, and all 5 players must click on them. To summon the Doomguard, one of these players must be sacrificed, so someone will die for the ritual to complete. When summoned, the Doomguard will be hostile to all players, and must be controlled via with
, becoming harder and harder to control the more you enslave the Doomguard.
You can also summon a Doomguard if you're lucky - Killing an enemy with
末日降临
has a low chance to spawn a Doomguard. The Doomguard from Curse of Doom must also be enslaved.
Although the Doomguard is a hard demon to summon and control, it is well worth it to summon it for some PvP action - The Doomguard has access to many powerful spells such as
残废术
,
火焰之雨
and
撕裂
.
Enslave Demon
is a spell that allows the Warlock to take control of a Demon for up to 5 minutes. While enslaved, the Demon will have 40% reduced attack speed and 30% increasing casting speed. Enslaving a demon uses a Soul Shard.
Enslave Demon servers more as a fun spell than anything, due to the attack/casting speed penalties that enslaved mobs do get. However, it can be useful in some demon-infested areas, and in a few situations like when paired together with the
talent - You are able to retain the buffs from the talent while enslaving a demon.

While enslaved, the Demon will have 40% reduced attack speed and 30% increasing casting speed.
This should say "30% reduced casting speed."
Also this spell should be played with carefully. As demons can break free early from the enslavement.
