This guide provides tips and strategies for defeating the Gehennas encounter in Molten Core. One of the four Flamewaker Captains that serve under Ragnaros, Gehennas serves as the first encounter for the Molten Core raid.
Season of Mastery
World of Warcraft Classic is getting its first "Season" with Season of Mastery. Seasons will have six content phases, lasting roughly 2 months for each phase, for a total of a 12 month cadence. When the Season ends, characters will have the option to transfer to permanent Classic Era realms before the Season servers are shut down. Season of Mastery will feature faster leveling, new raid mechanics, the removal of world buffs in raids, and many other changes.

Before the Pull
Clear the entire area around Gehennas to have enough people to fight the Flamewaker. You will want to tank Gehennas in the center of the room, with his two guards to the southwest of the room.
Gehennas Abilities and Strategy
Gehennas' mechanics are relatively easy to deal with, as most of them requires simply to move out or decurse. It is recommended to deal with the adds before killing Gehennas. Below, we list all of Gehennas' abilities and how to deal with them.
Gehennas
The main Flamewaker has 3 abilities.
火焰之雨
Gehennas calls down a molten rain, dealing Fire damage to all enemies in the selected area for 6 seconds.
Dealing with this ability is simple - Just move out of it if its cast on you.
This ability can be cast on the tank or any melee DPS, so either tank in the Rain of Fire's area will need to deal with the ability accordingly - Move the boss or adds away from the Rain of Fire.

This ability decreases all healing taken from the target by 75% for 5 minutes. Gehennas will cast this ability on the entire raid, roughly every 15 seconds.

s will spend a majority of the fight helping the

s decurse the raid, instead of DPSing.
Priority targets for dispelling are the tanks, melee DPS, then the rest of the raid.
Caster DPS or healers should use

every 2 minutes to cleanse Gehennas' Curse, instead of waiting for a dispell. You will be able to cleanse up to 3 Curses for the duration of the potion. You do not need to spam Restorative Potions, as most of the damage in this fight can be avoided.
暗影箭
Gehennas fires a shadowy bolt at a random raid member, dealing Shadow damage.
Very simple ability - Just heal the person hit with the Shadow Bolt. Bandaging the damage is also a good idea, even if you have Gehennas' Curse.
Mages or Druids can dispell Gehennas' Curse from the target if they catch it.
火妖
Gehennas is accompanied by two Flamewakers, which must be tanked away from the raid. but still close to Lucifron himself so melee attackers are able to cleave the adds. As their abilities can be nastier than Gehennas', it is heavily recommended to kill them before killing Gehennas himself. Only one ability is worth noting from the Flamewakers.

This ability stuns nearby enemies for 4 seconds.
Fist of Ragnaros will hit all melee players on the Flamewakers, as well as the tanks responsible for them. Tanks will require extra healing through Fist of Ragnaros.
The stun can and should be avoided by using
