Elemental Invasions
will begin to occur in Kalimdor in Phase 2 of WoW Classic, starting December 10th, 2019, with the simultaneous launch of
Warsong Gulch
and
Alterac Valley
. These invasions pop up randomly every few days. In Vanilla WoW, these were originally included in Patch 1.4.0 (April 19, 2005) along with the PvP Honor System, Children’s Week, and the Gurubashi Arena.
The original, official description of the event was:
Invasions by elementals at different locations on Kalimdor have reportedly been occurring sporadically every few days. Concerned adventurers should investigate Silithus, Un'Goro Crater, Azshara, and Winterspring to counter these incursions.
How does an Elemental Invasion begin?
Portals from the Elemental Plane will begin to appear, to signify the start of an Elemental Invasion. Elemental invaders will begin to pass through, and eventually, a leader will appear and start yelling in the zone, to signify their presence. Until the leader is killed, more invaders will keep spawning. Once the leader is killed, the event will end and no new elementals will spawn. The remaining elementals already present will remain alive until they are killed.
Some players will opt to delay in killing the named leader as to farm materials such

, as all of the invaders have a chance to drop them. Additionally, they can drop some of the lesser quality elemental items such as:

The following are the types of Elemental Invasions in Kalimdor:

is a greenish yellow looking fire elemental that appears near the base of the
Fire Plume Ridge

. He is accompanied by a pack of 3-4 other elementals that will pull with him and is immune to fire.
When he spawns, you’ll see him yell:
"Hear me, denizens of the crater! I come to burn this land of its impurity!"
While alive and patrolling around, he’ll shout:
"Where are the so-called heroes of this world? Too frightened to come out and play?"
And upon death, he will exclaim:
"You have not seen the last of me fools! All will be consumed in the end!"

Good guide, but I believe

does not drop from Princess Tempestria. I killed her multiple times during Classic and saw this low level pattern drop zero times. Further research implies WoWhead's drop data may have been corrupted somehow. The pattern has made it to the loot tables tons of water elementals for some reason, but it really is just a random world drop.
