Makes Four Horsemen a joke. 4 piece Dreadnaught takes spell resist chance down to 11%, so with this you have a 1% chance to resist taunt.

The cooldown is only 1.25 minutes, so by the time the tank has to get to the next station, its cooldown is up. The fight is certainly possible to do without it, just makes learning/executing the transitions a whole hell of a lot easier.

This trinket stacks with the Mind Quickening Gem, Talisman of Ephemeral Power, etc. This is very unusual - I don't know of any similar trinkets that can be stacked with items like the ToEP.

At level 60, this trinket gives you +10% spell hit 20% of the time you are casting (15 seconds cast, 75 seconds cooldown). On a raid boss, the entire +10% spell hit is useful, so that gives you an average of +2% spell hit all the time. Let's say your Fireballs hit for 1800 in such a situation; that means that this trinket is equivalent to +36 spell damage.

This should help you choose between this trinket and Briarwood Reed, for example.

Actually 10% to hit is pretty nice, in any situation. It's especially nice against mobs that have high resists to your paticular elemental attack, and on mobs that are higher lvl than you.

If you're curious about how good + chance to hit is go read the article on blizzards main page. It explains the mechanics of how they apply + chance to hit.

if you want to look at in terms of average dmg lets do an example. Say against a particular mob you do frostbolts that hit for 750 on average. And obviously if your bolt is resisted you do 0 dmg. So.. if you increase you chance to hit by 1%, you in theory, will land 1 extra bolt out of 100. so on this example mob you can look at 1% to hit as + 7.5dmg (750/100 = 7.5). So if you have an extra 10% to hit you are increaseing your dmg by 75 for 15 seconds. This is all statistical though.

I just used it until i got the ZHC, you don't really get much from using it because you can't notice much of a difference to be honest. I guess i never had a resist whilst using it, but 15 seconds is such a small time period and your sacraficing using other very usefull trinkets.

I set up a macro to use it at the same time as my ZHC. Means I don't waste any of the charges on resists.

This has dropped on guild raids 3 times now, and every time it does, a collective groan goes up, as this is widely considered a crap drop. I have always thought it was awesome, and every time I claim so in raid chat, I have all the casters rolling against me on it (we dont do DKP for 20 man runs).

I just got mine (third time was the charm) last night.

In my opinion, this is completely a warlock trinket. Curse of Doom lasts one minute, and has a one minute cooldown. If it is resisted, you have to wait one minute before you can recast it. So it becomes pretty important that that one spellcast is not resisted.

It also finds usefulness in banishing those oh-so-fun firepacks, and I suppose for mages, using polymorph.

Good for AoE spells, too.

Just got it last night and no chance to really test, but does this trinket not share a cooldown with anything? If so this trinket is even better if coupled with a +dmg for x seconds trinket and no resists :)

Used on the 4 Horsemen fight so tanks don't have their taunts resisted.

The regular spell hit chance without bonuses from gear is about 90% on mobs your level, and 83% on level ? bosses. Using this in a boss fight boosts you to 93%, and you should have enough from decent gear to pretty much eliminate any chance of resistance. This item is DESIGNED for boss fights, as indicated in the flavor text, "Fer really long castin'" Even if it's only for 15 seconds, chances are that in those 15 seconds you will land every spell you cast.

This can make sure that critical spell, combo and or Crowdcontrol is not resisted. Add the fact that this is supposed to be stack able with other items like The Hero Charm and Charm of Destruction in 1.11 and you have massive burst damage with virtually no way to resist it. Winning combo in my book. Remember this when you try that next Soulfire immolate combo on a MC gear opponent and or your deathcoil is resisted on that stunlock rogue. How about fearing a shadow preist with 100+ shadow resist and fear resistance Spec. No problem! This can also make those critical or long cooldown PVE spells almost guarantee success. Sheep, Banish, Tranq Shot, Curse of doom, Fear.... On second thought nevermind this is a worthless trinket disregard this and just shard it especially if your on Boulderfist and an Alli.

His fishing rod is obtainable via a quest, i dont fish personally but i hear its horde only so i doubt either are relevant to the Ashbringer. That aside why would a caster trinket be related to a twohand sword?

Resist = miss. GG to all people who have said "OmG leik usseless thang evar!1!" In case you didnt know, resists are bad things. This makes those bad things happen 10% less.

You have 83% chance to land a spell on a level 63 mob. With this and a few other +spellhit items equipped, I have a 99% chance while it's active. Nice to make *quite* sure that pesky Lava Reaver doesn't resist Banish. Cooldown is very short at around 90 seconds.

How bad is it when your AP + ToEP is on and you get resisted? Feel sick don't you? Slap one of these babies on at the same time and you'll not have to worry much about this. Looks like this is the reason this trinket was added to the game in the first place.
