Only problem with the fishing hat is that the lures are only +75 instead of +100. That 25 skill difference really matters when you're fishing in Outland so I assume it would be even more noticeable in Northrend.

It's really just a matter of luck. I've caught one Pinchy in about a million casts in those pools. It didn't give me the pet either, which is what the achievement wants. Same goes for that Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat. I've done the daily for many months, but still no hat.
