I'm using default UI, except for Bartender.

Above my chat window there are three tabs: General, Combat, Trade. I can see General chat like normal. When I type /1 <space> in the command line, it puts me into the General channel as expected. However when I type /2, it does not put me into the Trade channel.

I right clicked the General tab > Settings > Channels, it shows all four default channels. But Trade is grayed out, the Check Box for Trade is checked but also grayed out (as opposed to a gold checkmark like the General channel has).

It's probably something simple, but apparantly I'm too dumb to figure it out.

Are you currently in an area where Trade is active? Basically, only in "capital city" areas.

Trade may also be on a different number, if you ever left the channel on that character.

How can trade be on a different number please ?

Hi whelan. Trade, like other global channels such as General and LocalDefense, cannot have its channel number changed. It will always be 2 for you and for everyone else.
