Flask of Petrification & Other Immunity-Granting Consumables in Hardcore Classic WoW

This week, immunity-granting consumables such as
Flask of Petrification
have caused quite a stir on the new 20th Anniversary Hardcore Classic WoW servers. If you don't play Hardcore, you might not be familiar with these items so today we will take a look!

These items grant immunity to damage; as you can probably imagine, they are widely kept and used in emergencies on Hardcore. Some players think that these may go against the spirit of the Hardcore Classic WoW, while others see them as an essential part of the Hardcore player toolkit. This has caused contention in some Hardcore guilds while members decide whether they want to allow the usage of
Flask of Petrification
or not.
Flask of Petrification
This is probably the best-known immunity item. As per the tooltip, this flask gives immunity to all physical attacks and spells for one minute. It comes at a cost as you can't move, or perform any actions. But, with just a 3-second cooldown, this flask can save you (over & over).
The flask is created using the Alchemy profession and the recipe itself is a level 60 world drop.

In Hardcore Classic WoW, this flask is used as an escape mechanism when things go wrong in a dungeon or raid. Players can leave their group to induce the one-minute countdown timer before being teleported out of the instance, then use
Flask of Petrification
to protect themselves while they wait for the teleport.

Light of Elune
is Alliance-only as it is a reward from a quest.
This item makes you immune to damage for 10 seconds. It can be a complete lifesaver if you remember to use it. It is a single-use item that you can only obtain once, making its use a very big decision.
You can obtain
Light of Elune
by completing the quest
Mage Summoner
. This quest is found in Ashenvale and you can pick it up starting at level 20.
Limited Invulnerability Potion
Last up then, we have the slightly limited
Limited Invulnerability Potion
.
You create this potion using Alchemy.
Recipe: Limited Invulnerability Potion
is a world drop and learnable at Alchemy skill 250.

Limited Invulnerability Potion
makes you immune to physical attacks only, and lasts 6 seconds. This is far weaker than
Light of Elune
or
Flask of Petrification
, however it is far easier to acquire, and cheaper so in a pinch, you may be happy you had some in your bags.
