There is a quest to get his head, but know ahead of time that he is accompanied by two other similarly leveled NPCs (one a fighter, the other a caster).

Back in pre-2.3, when all three of them were elites (as were every other mob/NPC in Stromgarde), it was extremely difficult to get any help at all for this area. The switch to non-elite in 2.3 made quests like this much easier to complete.

I was able to solo the entire keep as a 37 Pali. I took on the entire room protecting Lord Falconcrest (lvl 38's) as well as Lord Falconcrest himself (lvl 40). It's strange because I'm so used to skipping this entire quadrant because it was elite infested. Now it's very doable and very fun. Good luck.

Something I love doing on my 45 is just to walk in and farm him over and over,trying to get good items xD

He is inside the castle, as well as his friend Otto (on the second floor).

you can easily clear the room before engaging Otto & Falconcrest. Soloed as 37 Fury warrior, no decent loot dropped, Just pass unless you have the quest.

He is the highest level mob of the Syndicate except for occasionally Syndicate Enforcers spawn as level 40

Lord Falconcrest spawns with his bodyguard Otto, and they are both vulnerable for all crowd control spells, which makes it very, very easily soloable. REMEMBER that you loot both of their heads - if you forget it, you will have to kill them again, because they will spawn fast.

War Rider Bracers from this quest are viable level 29 twink wrist for warriors/paladins - they have an item level of 40 which means you can put +4 All Stats/+12 Stamina/+12 Strength-enchants on them. Rod of Sorrow, which is also a reward from this quest, has the highest damage on a lvl 20-29 wand, but it is not worthwhile getting for your castertwink - get one with stats! :)

well, if you,re trying to get lockpicking skill i would pick his pocket be cause it,s 15% likely to be loot by pick pocket him, and of course like everyone knows rogue can pick pockets and lockpick :D

Even if you manage to get neutral with the Syndicate faction, this NPC along with his body guard remain hostile. Most probably because they are part of a quest and the faction they are associated with isn't particularly useful anyway.

Sometimes a Syndicate Magus walks up to him, and he says:

"I presume you come with good news?"

The Magus replies:

"Things are going as planned, Lord Falconcrest. I assure you, it is only a matter of time."

The Magus then salutes and walks away.

Note that I said Magus, but its possible that the type of Syndicate for that spawn is random.

He no longer gives or reduces rep. I'm hated with the Sydicate and neutral with Ravenholdt. Everyone else give/reduces rep for Ravenholdt/Sydicate at Stormgarde keep, respectively.

I've been alternating between here and Faldir's Cove for easy Bloodsail Buccaneer rep. It helps keep down the bordem.

He is at the top of the castle in Stormgarde, along with Otto and 4-5 elite guards in the room with them. I definatly reccomend taking a few friends (especially if the can crowd control) if you're doing this before level 40.

I solod this as a level 46 rogue... OMG this is hard. I had to burn a major healing pot, stun him as much as possible, use evasion, adrenaline rush, blade flurry, blind him and bandage and still almost lost. This was just falconcrest solo. GL to those that try to solo this

Entered the castle as a 53lvl druid just for fun
- was on my way to learn elemental leatherworking.

Up to the main room it was easy going lvl 36-39 elites. No problem doing 4 or 5 at the same time.

Entered the Throne room. Charged.....and got slaughtered.

The three man group there (the lord lvl 40, spellcaster lvl 39 and bodyguard lvl 39) did almost 14000 - yes u read correctly 14000 - damage to me in little over a minute. I centered my attacks on Lord Falconcrest himself, and only managed do reduce his health 40%

Entered as bear with 4000 hp - went down to 500 - frenzied reg - back to caster at 500 hp - pot/healing touch max hp - bear - killed.

I can easily solo elites my level, and have taken out elites above my level too. This was nothing short but strange

He has Otto as guard, also has 1 Prowler at bottom right corner of the room, 1 Prowlwer at to right of the room, along with other 2 guards. So you have to fight 5 men at once.
If you are going to do this quest, do it with at least a hunter that is at least lvl 42, and with at least a group of 4. Otherwise, you will fail miserably. Yet, if you are lvl 34 or below, don't even bother, your group will fail. Guarantee.

We were lookin for the Orb in Stromgarde (Horde Quest) and killed him by mistake.2 hunters and 1 warrior lvl 41-43.nothin serious though i had to feign death once and the other guy lost his pet.
We cleaned house in there; we also killed the ogre leader for quest and the prince trollbane somthn.

I took a group of 4 and killed this guy. Me, 39 Paly, 42 Druid, 40 Druid and 43 Lock. It was easy. We had the Lock Seduce the Body Gaurd and 42 Druid tank. The other Druid and Lock took down the Spellcaster. Then they focused on killing the Body Gaurd. I was healling the tanking druid and attacking Lord Falconcrest. I put judgement of wisdom of Falconcrest to keep my mana high. After the Body Gaurd was dead the Lock and DPS Druid attacked Falconcrest. I got down to 20% mana at the end of the fight and the tanking Druid was at about 75% heath. It was simple just a long fight.

If theres like 5 you should have atleast 2 hunters with teh same lvl of them pets if you wanna kill 5 guys at once+Prowler i would say a group of 2 hunters+pets same lvl a lv l42 pally a 43 rouge and a 31 shammy

I soloed him and his crew as a 39 hunter. The key is to just dps whichever pet has aggroed most.

Soloed this as a 49rogue. very easy. Just before I did it, i watched a 43warlock kill both Otto and Falconcrest, again, easily. This quest must have been modified by a patch, else i can't understand the previous posts, especially the one mentioning 14000 damage... No elites here, only regular guys, and you can take them one by one if you don't rush in. Otto was gone in 3 blows, Falconcrest barely took 15% of my health and i was lazy cause i didn't even stealth to do my usual opening. Falconcrest reads 2200 hp, so completely within reach for a small group of 40 lows and one 40 high... I only did this quest for a bit of reputation, so I didn't expect much excitement. Still, got disappointed by lack of resistance. Have fun.

I camped this guy for 10 hours straight! 7 minute timer from death... how do I know this? Simple, re-casted Fel Armor right after his death... He drops CRAP! I want the Staff of Jordan for my 39 Mage. Not only did he NOT drop a Staff but not 1 random blue, Hell, I got 4 blues from the Chests that are all over that place.

I also have camped him at 1-2 hour "sessions" with atleast 1 of my lvl 60+ characters...

Is it possible to hit Friendly with these guys? Ever since I did the rogue quest for Ravenholdt I have a 'Syndicate' reputation bar in my reputation tab.

Yeah, he drops Staff of Jordan. But if you were to farm it, you could have leveled to 60 and have a better staff! Like all lotteries, there is a lucky winner and an unlimited number of dreamers. So if I say forget about this, I will be right for everyone except the one guy who gets it and flames me as though any idiot could get the drop the first time through. LOL.

I had this staff drop on my first kill of falcon crest, and i was actuall ywith a group so had to roll for it, luckily i won it. I still have the staff now and my mage is level 56. Anyone who doesnt beleive me can check my char i am on emerald dream and my char's name is thunderlungs. Good luck to anyone trying to get it to drop, but i can confirm it DOES drop of this NPC. (by the way i am not a 14 yr old lol, i am 28yrs young lol).

I'm twinked pretty hard as a 40 rogue with strong weapons and double lifestealing enchants, combat specc'd WITH riposte, and I can kill everything in this room through single pulling / sapping / blinding, etc., even Otto, such that I fight this guy solo. To give you an idea how strong I am I can 2-pull these elites while taking hits from them and kill them both fine. However, not this guy. He's different.

If you pop all your CDs and burst him straight for 30 seconds, he is barely at 2/3rd's HP. Just to give you an idea of how tough this guy is. I started gouging / running / stunning / shooting, but it just wasn't cutting it, and something respawned and I died with vanish on CD. It could be done, but you probably won't do it.

Even though the faction says Syndicate on WoWhead, he is not actually part of the Syndicate faction in game.

Even being Neutral with Syndicate Lord Falconcrest and his bodyguard Otto still presents as hostile to the player.
