The Quel'dorei, also called the High Borne, were the greatest sorcerers and allies to the night elfs about 10,000 years ago when the Well of Eternity was discovered. Their queen Azshara, like them, were hungry for magic when they discovered the Well. To make a long story short, most were turned into the Naga when the well exploded.

adding on to yarthort and Brighid. the high elves were the highbourne AKA: night elves loyal to ashara. so it is understandable that early high elves look like night elves only paler.

They cannot cross running water...
In other words, they don't swim i.e. they don't come after you when you jump in to the river

THEY CANT SWIM! so if your a druid just use that push spell it will make them drown!

Exactly how many NPCs still use the old blood elf model? I know about these, the ones in scholo and the ones in blasted lands...but are there any others?

Yep. And like I said before, theres still a few around the world that use this model.

Really odd that this has a unique model.. thought they'd just transparent a blood elf.
