On my server, this is the only white crafting material that reliably sells for more than 20 gold each -- including volatiles.

The best place to farm this is probably in the Darkwood in Tol Barad Peninsula, near one of the bridges. Not only do you have 暗木潛伏者 and , which people will kill for the daily quests, but you'll also sometimes find Shipwreck Debris nodes to fish for 密封的木箱.

I found that the best place to farm heavy savage leather is in Tol Barad in the middle killing Darkwood Broodmother, Darkwood Lurker, and the Baradin Fox. Bring a tank with you to help gather them all up. I did this and was able to get 53 heavy savage leather in under an hour. While doing this you can also kill the Darkwood Hatchling Critter in the area to help with the guild achievements Critter Kill Squad (which unlocks the Armadillo Pup companion) and Crittergeddon.

During Darkmoon Faire I was able to fish a lot of these up around Darkmoon Island. They are contained in a Sealed Crate that I fished up from Shipwreck Debris pools scattered around the island.

If you're on a PvP server and Tol Borad is controlled by the other faction, I have found an alternative skinning spot that works almost as well. There is a small piece of land in Deepholm between Therazane's Throne and The Pale Roost. There are quite a few Shalehide Basilisks there that always give Heavy Savage Leather. This serves me well as a secondary skinning spot.
