These boots are awesome for a Mutilate Rogue (second BiS according to Elitist Jerks at the time of this post). If you are part of a good raiding guild, then yes, running raids may provide you with something almost as good for far less than the mats for these boots would cost you...you just have to hope that you get them.

However, in my case my guild was crippled when several of the best raiders suddenly left with no notice and no attempt to assist their former fellow guildmates (i.e. gear before guild), so these represented a viable, if not expensive alternative for me...until our guild recovers.

Additionally, the exceptional agility stats on these boots allowed me to re-gem for increased haste, always desirable (in addition to Attack Power) for a Mut Rogue.

These boots are currently best in slot for feral tanks aside from Heroic content.

Thankfully, a very good pair of leather booties that don't share the same 'sock' graphic as most of the other more recent 245+ ilevel boots.

Also very good for the Enh Sham in your life. The complete absence of expertise on mail gear is disheartening, this is a way to get some back, without stealing your rogues and druids drops. Now I can stop using my JC gems to reach exp cap and get some more of the stats I do want.

These boots are also the BiS for a Ret pally at the moment. The plate Armor Pen boots will not put out as much DPS as these will.

Assuming the ret paladin has no access to 277 gear, yes. If you do then not so much. And definitely not once 4.0 comes out. However until 4.0, they're very nice if you don't have the cash and aren't doing heroic Deathwhisper 25. Which was my case :/

One thing to be aware of is that your -personal- BiS list for a ret can swing dramatically different depending on which 2H weapon you end up with. The list if you go with Bryntroll is different than if you have Shadowmourne is different than if you have Glorenzelg. And the boots will be one of the slots that change.

Are they worth it? I'm a rogue gearing up and the cost/time it would take me to get these would be immense.
