A bit of transmog info...

This robe uses the "Red" variant of the "C1 Robe" artwork. The robe option and shoulders of Crimson Silk Regalia use the same artwork and colour.

There are three shoulders (all with different shapes) that also use the same artwork set and colour: 紅色魔紋護肩 and 火絲披肩.

Note that there's also wizard-style hat artwork that uses the same set number. But the colours and hat band patterns don't match perfectly like the robe and shoulders do, so I have my doubts they're really intended to match. Nevertheless if you're interested, the one hat that uses the Red colour is 紅色尖帽. It seems a little bright, but not too bad.

Together the three pieces look like this.

There isn't any set artwork for any other piece (belt, boots, bracers or gloves).

There are five other colours of this set in the artwork database and all are available in the game as complete two-piece robe and shoulders sets (three-piece for most of them, if you consider the hats a valid match). I've listed them below, and also included the hats in case you're interested. Click on the colour links to view the appearance and list of pieces:

Blue - used in Mistscape Regalia and Abjurer Regalia
Black - used in Master's Regalia, Black Mageweave Regalia and Netherweave Vestments
Purple
Gray - used in Duskwoven Regalia

You can buy this on the AH cheap and you might want to use it for raiding. The reason is that it gives +30 spell hit, which is almost half of what you need to ensure you maximize your chance to hit level 73 bosses.

Many people go for maximum damage and crit and fail to take account of the miss rate. You need about +76 spell hit on your gear (on top of a +10% to hit talent spec) to do a good job DPSing in raids.

Using this robe gives nice damage but the large hit bonus allows you to vary the other items you use to maximize DPS while reaching the magic +76 hit bonus. Don't underestimate the value of +hit. If your chance to hit a boss is gimped 1%, then you lose 1% of your damage. 1% of your damage is more than any +damage/+crit bonus you are getting instead.

This robe has 30 spell hit. An incredible amount on one item.

Considering how rare +spell hit is on items and only one or two unique (can't own more than 1) epic gems give ~4 or 5 +spell hit, the 30 +spell hit here is immensely valuable for any mage/druid/destruct lock.

Hitting with a spell the first time you cast it in a raid will save you loads more mana than any amount of +spirit or +mp5 can do.

On top of the +hit, it has 50 spell damage with no sockets needed. And the amount of intellect isnt bad at all.

I personally wouldnt get rid of this robe until i found a robe with potentially more spell damage (meaning with sockets) and at least enough of an intellect increase for 2 more spell casts.

Anyway, I found mine off of an Enraged Fire Spirit in Shadowmoon VAlley, that put a little excitment into my Primal Fire farming...after all...I need 64 for my Spellfire Set...

I was thinking to sell thing baby for a nice 90g+, but from the posts I've read, it doesn't seem like people are selling it for that much, anyway, I'll go sell it and see how it goes! Happy huntin!

I got this thing a couple days ago and have had trouble selling it. I've seen this in the auction house for around 30g, although I have never seen them sell. The way I see it, nobody wants level 69 equipments unless they're exceptionally good (like the Riding Crop) or cheap, since all people have to do is level one more time to gain access to the really good sets.

I think I nominate this for Most Underappreciated BoE Blue in WoW. It commonly sells for less than that joke of an item Girdle of Gale Force, at least on the two servers I play on.

It's really not a bad item. 30 spellhit and 50 spelldamage is nothing to frown at. Plenty better than a lot of the stuff I see people running around in.

Its not expensive because it is a 69 item. But I am very happy that I got this item for when I hit 69 until I get my spellfire set complete. I alreay have the imbued set sitting in the bank but this will replace the imbued robe because even with the Imbued set bonus..for a arcane mage

And the hit on this is great for one peice. Yes I lose 28 crit, but i gain 30 hit...a much better trade. I also lose 42 stam and 5 int but gain 17 dmg. Again a fair trade IMO for the hit on this. If I feel like AV I could always slap on the imbued robe for the stam. Im very very happy to have this for my temporary robe. Lets be honest, that is what this is... a temporary robe, and it fills that role perfectly.

I have to agree. As a moonkin druid, i find it a bit ahrd to find enough spell hit to keep up steady DPS in raids. I have yet to make it to magtheridon's to get my chest drop, and the Leather Arena chest is a joke outside of PVP. I sacrifice 8 spell damage when i swap into this, along with 24 stamina and 32 spirit (thanks to enchant). It's worth it to hit my target more often. Saves me a lot of mana in the long fights like against Gruul and such. Also, can't see me wearing a dress if I'm in moonkin form :p

I saw this on the AH for 40g an opted not to buy it. Reason being that im beggining work on my frozen shadoweave set.
But I suppose this could be a good temporary robe, while I make the shoulders & boots first, then finally replace it with the Robe..

there's a poster in this thread that (imo) hit the nail right on the head. this is a HUGE amt of +spl hit on a single item. put it on as soon as i ding'd 70. +2.38%... off just 1 item. by any measure, that's a lot. and the +50 spl dmg on it, along w/ the int are respectable.

so, earlier poster, agreed* this is definitely one of the most underrated items in the game as far as pre-heroic gear. put a little stam enchant on it for icing on the cake... /sexy

ps: apparently this robe has an unseen, +50% rack size to female characters (per the above picture XD lol)

I don't think it's a rare drop. It dropped twice on one character for me :) Once in Under bog and once from a random mob in Nether Storm.
