I'm pretty sure that the Gamemaster's Hood/Robe/Slippers look like the garb the actual Gamemaster's wear when they have to show themselves to you in-game.

I wonder if its easy to kill a GM, I know there weapons do uber damage, but with the health of only base stats I think if a decent pvp rogue got the first shot in he/she might do it?

They do: I saw one, undead priest lvl70 wearing nothing but the robe, hood and slippers, he was helping in-game to respawn a guy in Deathknell: at the same time a big gnome warlock, lvl70 with a giant Infernal minion came charging down Deathknell, I asked him, "Is that something to do with you?" He replied "What?" "The gnome" "Nope." "Oh. I thought it might have been so that it would draw attention to a GM being in-game." "No, no. We do use things to distract people, but we use really, really big things like Kael'thas appearing in Shadowglen etc, or Magni Bronzebeard taking a walk around Ironforge and getting a drink at the inn." I got some FANTASTIC screenshots that day.

I was just making weird GM tickets, till a GM responded. My ticket was; Christian Broekmeulen is spanking me! :( And the GM was actually really nice... She gave me tips like; Spank him back! And other stuff :P But then I ask; Do you have that blue robe? She said: Yes, with cookie crumbles.. I said: Can I see it? She: * brushes off the crumbles* And a second later she was standing in frond of me! She waved, and dissappeard again! it was on stormscale as horde...

A GM came to our guild during naxx 25 tonight.
He was indeed wearing the Gamemaster's Robe, Gamemaster Hood and Gamemaster's Slippers.
Quite a unique and fun experience.

Saw a gamemaster with this on while doing https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=12581.
He made himself higher than Artruis the Heartless (The lich I had to kill) and immolated himself.
The immolation buff were called "God of Fire" or something.. A pretty fun experience. He also teleported.
I guess he went to the GM Island that I've heard about.

A GM appeared to me a few days ago, he was wearing the full "Gamemaster" set as well... He also used a buff to make himself big

The old GM island is on a small island south of Theramore, just head along the beaches infested with pirates and those big turtles. Then head out the water to the east towards the corner of the map, just ignore the fatigue (And bring a deathknight to waterwalk you) then just mount over there untill you see a small island with some gnomish houses scattered around it. Might be smart to set the view distance to the highest, might lower the FPS, but it will be easier to spot it, and since the fatigue will run low on the way there, you really want to save as much time as possible.

The new GM island is a fortress on a jungle island, sadly it's on a map inaccessable to players. Not much to do there either, just a graveyard and a fortress, no fancy gadgets or portals or anything like that as far as I know.

its a nice robe. actually i saw a GM link it today. We killed golemagg and since there was no drops, the whole guild ticketted a GM. He yelled to us, in MC, but was invisible. We joked with him (he was pretty funny) It was like speaking to a god -.- but someone yelled back we wanted to see his shaman stuff ^^ He came visible and the maintank was hurry to inspect this ^^, then he was gone again :) that was the most coolest GM i ever had meet..

1) Get Lootlink
2) "Accidentally" delete an item.
3) Page a GM and try to get it back (note: only works once)
4) Inspect the GM.
5) You can now shift+click the items into chat from lootlink, and ctrl+click them to preview.

these items are for gamemasters only, how other people get them i do not know. Every GM you will ever see will be wearing a GM robe hood and slppers, and from what i have heard sometimes a grandmarshals claymore. not sure about the claymore tho lol.

Alright first, The only way players get the robe is .add on a private server, simple, add the GM items, do !gmon (which makes your name with GM) and take a screeny and post it on here, im on a private server at the moment.

Hello iam a GM myself.Yes the rumors are treu we are more powerfull than anything else in the game, here is the biggest lie from everybody: GM's dont have factions>.<, yes we do!We have just like u guys Horde and Alliance u just cant attack us because we have our GM Tag on ( .gm on or .gm off ).We dont need any gear thats why most of the GM's walk around in the GM robe, hood or feet.We dont need gear because we dont do instances and if we need to kill a npc or something like it we click on the npc and type .kill or when we want gear because it looks cool we type: .char additem ( id of the item ).And we also have some 'Over The Top' GM's they made there on gear on www.wow-v.com.

Yeah gm's are nice people i was kicked out of a group doing a daily hc once and put up a ticket of what ha happened, i got abit bored on my Ally so i went on my hordie, then she came and asked what was my problem we had a nice chat i told her she was very nice gm. She giggled, i would have thought they were serious people, But there just like you and me funny,joyful and real feelings yeah totally changed my mind about how gm's are to be treated. With respect like everybody else.
