The quest for these shoulders can be completed at lvl 59. If you're careful about your xp while following the chain you could have these for pvp in the 50's bracket, combine with a few other quest rewards and some lvl 57-59 outland greens 'of the soldier' or 'of the beast' and a warrior wearing that stuff would be a monster.

For the DKs who are choosing between these are their DK shoulders, use the DK shoulders as they have more strength, they have hit which is very useful for fighting mobs above your level, we already have obscene amounts of crit as it is so agility isn't necessary and the stam is not important, L2deathstrike.

L2 some dks are tank spec, and these shoulders are much better for tanking due to the additional armor, stamina, and dodge chance.

good shoulderpads for lvl 60-65 dks, looks bad with the rest of your dks gear but i just transmog it into Blood-soaked Saronite Plated Spaulders.

Wow, these are my first new shoulders since Big Bad Pauldrons from Zul'Farrak, and I can't tell you how happy I am to get rid of my old ones. These look very ugly with my current armor, but at least they have uber stats.

Very nice bonus to an hour of ramparts getting the Shadowrend longblade, the hellreaver, and then with the quest i get this. Some shoulders that actually dont look super gay. =)

Just to avoid any confusion...if you have done the follow-up to Ill Omen you still get the quest?

(I would check myself but every single server is down for 8 hours, just after i handed in Ill Omen pt 2)

Almost on par with the tier 2.5 shoulders, it just that it doesn't have the +10 hit rating, but for a quest doable by anyone, while the tier 2.5 requires much more than a PUG, means that these shoulders are kick-ass :D

there you need to kill three bosses for the shoulder.
