This can be prospected by tin ore. For jewelcrafters prospecting tin ore, moss agate is extremely profitable and can sell for more than 1g a piece in the AH. However, you might consider saving it until you reach 120 in jewelcrafting, when you can do Pendant of the Agate Shield, until about 150. Easiest way to level through that skill range, don't waste the moss agate you get by prospecting on other recipes unless you really want the item. Otherwise, you'll end buying them in the AH or buying tin ore to prospect, like I did, and it can cost some cash.

I am a Blacksmith and need Moss Agate for several items. I have been having trouble finding it on my Auction House. Last I checked there were only three of them. I suggest you save these rather than sell or auction them. They seem to be used in a lot of items.

If you're a rogue considering going to Gnomeregan to pickpocket the slimes, I do not recommend it.
I did 3 runs and pickpocketed ~20 irradiated slimes total and got 0 moss agate drops which is enough to prove the drop rate is not 60%
I only received about 15c per mob and a couple of battered lockboxes/broken mirrors

These go for around 65-70 gold on my server. It is insane, but if you see that there are none of these on the AH i suggest prospecting a few stack of ores. It is worth it.

-If you have easy acces to a JC or are a JC then the best way is to prospect Tin Ore.
-If you have a Miner then the best way is to mine tin ore and have a JC Prospect it and there is a chance by mining it will drop.
-If you have neither of the above then farming Black Fathom Depths in Ashenvale in Zoram Strand is the best way to get these

The simple fact is that it is droped via tin and silver veins. So go mining it is not dropped by copper.

They will range anywhere from 30s - 1g at the AH depending on how many are up there, just like anything really, supply and demand, if the market is flooded, things will be cheap, if there's only a couple, they'll be sky high.

I find most of my moss agate Prospecting Tin. I get it quite often then not actually. Until I found this website I didnt know what it was used for, now that I know it's used for Jewelcrafting im going to keep a couple. But they do sell for alot. Supply and demand sure do suck.

50g is a little beyond the real price but I would say it has changed for the beter...that is if you have them :) I would say though that if you got them in normal quantities save them becasue someone down the line will need them because it is used in almost all professions.

I think since jewel crafting came with the expansion items like this and Iridescent Pearls have not been able to keep up with demand. Also (at least on my Realm) there are a lot of people using the hoarding AH tactic. They buy all of one item that is listed and relist at high prices forcing the price up. Certainly forces me to go mine/dive or whatever to find the item myself.

The easiest way to get moss agate, and a bunch of other mats is to use the sparklematic 5200 in gnomer.
First, you'll want to grab the quests from Nogg's workshop in Org so you can port to gnomer from booty bay with a little item in your bag.

Then, after you enter the instance itself, head for the sparklematic, and exchange the grime encrusted things (and 3 silver per item) into the machine to get a bunch of mats. The more you grind around in gnomer, the more encrusted stuff you'll find.

It's easy, it just takes time. My rogue has about 2 dozen gems and some various minerals from doing a single gnomer run. The best part of the encrusted stuff is that it's not a very rare drop rate, and they're common, so you don't have to roll for them, and you'll collect them pretty quick.

I get a pretty good drop rate on these mining in Westfall and in the Deadmines with my 38 Pally.

Just got three drop just mining the south end hills of Westfall last night. two from mining and one out of a chest in Gnole camp. Found a silver bar in the same chest LUCKY!

I found one of these on a Mosshide Gnoll in the Wetlands. Killed about 25 of them, the 18th or 19th dropped one of these. Not sure what the drop rate is though, maybe I was just lucky.

In sentinel hill for me every VERY SO OFTEN one of these drops of the gnolls. Their so easy to kill being low lvl mobs that i just take my lvl 70 mage and use arcane explosion on them and they keep dropping this gem.

After seeing the ridiculous prices in the AH decided to see the best place to farm Mossy, ok, after running thru the deadmines came up empty so took a trip to Gnomeregan, encrusted objects are by far the best source for these green beauties, from 25 objects managed to get 4 moss agates, in saying this you also get a lot of junk also, so paying 3 silver in the cleaner for some pebbles seems a waste but its worth it for the greenies :)

HOW TO FARM MOSS AGATES AS A 60-70
1-grab a friend,make sure its around level 16-24*OPTINAL*
2-go to SFK,and set to master looter(of coarse you being leader)
3-The best places you get moss agetes are the begginging and the end
4-get to the butcher,run out,reset all instances,rinse and repeat

NOTE-i get around 2-5 per run
also,bring a friend to help him out,just make sure he understands
that you need them,and dump all your crap(gear,wepons)and grab
some mos agates

Ok, so I am a 157ish Engineer. I am at the point where Moss Agate is used for Virtually EVERYTHING, especially your goggles. But, as many of you Engineers know, Engineering is a very poor profession until you start to make things that everyone can use. Until then, you're broke buying mats from the AH for Fudged up prices. I don't want the Moss Agate for money, I want it for use. But I also need money to buy overpriced mats that are impossible to get anywhere else. Does anyone know how to get a hefty amount of Moss Agate as well as other mats, AND money?

alright, if you're playing hardcore wow self-found mode and need it from mining to craft 銀鱗胸甲 so you'll need 2 of 綠瑪瑙 your best bet to get it from 銀礦脈(around 2% chance) or 錫礦脈 (1.2% chance)
