Грустный квест. Группка так называемых "героев" (да-да, все мы были в старых Копях) убивает Эдвина, который действительно боролся за правое дело. Тех "каменщиков" предали и в конце концов убили нашими руками, а теперь нам еще и показывают плачущую над трупом отца дочь... Я всегда был на стороне Братства Справедливости (кто вникал в сюжет в старых частях ВоВа меня поймёт), также как я на стороне Ванессы сейчас.

Тоже был за Братство при Ван Клифе,жаль Ванессу,но не само нынешнее братство.Для меня наверно самый интересный сторилайн в игре был, очень приятно,что ему дали развитие.

где конкретно нужно находиться?карта показывает,что нахожусь на месте,а курительница не срабатывает,пишут,что нужно быть на входе в мертвые копи...

Активировать квестовый предмет необходимо не в мировой локации "Мертвые копи", а в инстансе "Мертвые копи", зайти туда очень легко, находите необходимый дом, поднимаетесь на второй этаж, спускаетесь в локацию "Мертвые копи" затем идете только там, где есть "Бездомные жители Штормграда" или "Сироты", если этих NPC нету, значит свернули не туда, в конце концов увидите мост, справа под ним находится "воронка" сиренневого цвета, анимированная всполохами, заходите в нее и активируете "Курильницу".

P.S.: Очень странное решение Blizzard, по меркам реального мира прошло уже семь, по-моему, лет, они же написали пять, в то же самое время, 7-8милетняя Ванесса через пять лет повзрослела и выглядит теперь как 18тилетняя. И, да, какая мораль этой истории? Типа "берите предоплату"? :)

Am I the only one reacting to the fact that this was for only 5 years ago, and Vanessa can't have been more than about 7 or 8 years old at the time, which means that she's now, 5 years later, 12-13 years old... And I'm supposed to kill her knowing that? O_O
I think Blizzard might have failed on that part...

Interesting to note that you can see the corpses of Mr.Smite, Captain Greenskin, and oddly Cookie in the vision.

I guess now we know that cookie is either a hunter,shaman or warlock.

Just completed quest w/ alt char. and realized clues are there indicating 'whodunit' throughout quest. I liked the way they blacked out 'villIain' like they do in Detective Conan.

It's south, but not immediately south.

If you are in the right house you will see a label The Deadmines - Defias Hideout pop up as you enter. As for the advice "follow the homeless" it was meaningless to me - there was no pattern to the movements of the homeless here or inside the mines that I could work out. Perhaps this was a bug and others see a stream of homeless making their way to the entrance. Whatever.

From the house, you go up the stairs, and this will get you to the the entrance to the mine.
It all gets twisty at this point, but I went to the southernmost area of the dungeon - lots of undead
and with a different colour on the minimap. I was wrong - go south but before you reach the undead part turn west, that's where the instance portal is. After entering the portal, light the incense.

There are dungeon quests following this one if you need/want them.

I still remembered the way through to the portal, so I left the homeless guy in the dust :P This quest was a great bit of nostalgia, with a surprising twist. Well... not so surprising if you've done Heroic Deadmines, but you know what I mean.

This wasn't too obvious for me when I did completed this quest, so I wanted to share my thoughts. First, you do have to go into the Deadmines instance to complete this quest, but you don't have to be part of a group (unless you want to run through the instance). In terms of getting to the instance, if you haven't done it before, after entering the building and going upstairs, keep to the right. If you've start fighting undead, you've gone the wrong direction. Once you're inside the instance, you'll just use the item and it'll complete the quest. You'll still have to run back out of the instance to turn it in.

Am I the only one who was unable to turn this one in at all? Gryan doesn't even give his sound clip when clicked on; he just makes the talking gesture and then returns to his animation.

You have to get inside the Deadmines instance and then use the quest item. I was using it outside even though thats near the entrance as well.

The trick is to find the instance portal, which is abit hard for those who havent done deadmines without the LFG.

This quest is a lie! So much of it was authentic, the hunter using mana, the group focusing adds then killing Edwin, ect ect... This made me miss this fight, and then made me cry right at the end.. RIGHT as Edwin dies, the rogue uses Shadowstep. What is this madness? From the date of this quest (2010), 5 years ago would put it 2005 (I appreciate how they used RL dates as the years that pass in game), and shadowstep wasn't implemented till 2007... Is this rogue from the future, or perhaps the inventor of shadowstep? If not, then this needs to be changed to be as authentic as they appear to have wanted.

[This incense will put your body and mind in a deep meditative state. Once the trance begins you will be pulled into the spirit world. Do not fight the trance once it has begun, <имя>. Allow the spirits to show you what they know.

You must leave now. Go to the Deadmines, a place which I am told holds great significance in the history of Westfall. Once inside, use the incense.

You may enter the Deadmines through the old farmhouse south of here. Follow the homeless.
