Ужасный огромный угорь, они синего цвета сам, а агроцвет портрета желтый, эти угри элиты нейтральны не атакуют первыми. Плывут возле квест гивера, подходим к угрю юзаем на него и добиваем, Угрь бьет не сильно..

Don't waste your time dropping the egg near the fast moving eels close to Orako, head further south in the trench until you find slower moving eels and drop there instead.

The fast moving ones you first see just ignore the egg completely. I spent a while trying to place it ahead of them, on them, I even foolishly tried tagging a fast eel first, then deploying the egg like a mine. It didn't blow, the eel stayed elite and nommed me to a quick death.

If it does not work the first time, drop it and get the quest again. Had to drop it twice before it worked.

As of right now it works.

Tried it about a week ago with no success but still had the quest up till now. So dropped it, retook it and it worked so looks like they fixed it.

Make sure you attack the eel first, then drop the device in its path. If you only use the device, the eel will not become weakened and the 'avenge wolf' portion will not complete. If you try to kill the non-weakened eel, you will probably die. Don't bother dropping another device during the fight; it might attract another eel. If that happens, and you aggro it with AoE, you will probably die.

Thanks for the warning about not dropping the device twice. I did this quest two times; neither time did the device "weaken" the eel. So each time I was left to fight an unweakened level 82 elite.

The first time I very nearly beat him, but I used the device a second time, hoping it might weaken him. Not only did it not weaken him, it didn't even weaken the other level 82 elite that was attracted...

The second time I attacked the eel first, then used the device. That didn't work either. So I had to DPS him down.

One cranky eel I can handle; two cranky eels is just too much. Don't use the device twice.

Yeh the problem is with the quest text- Weakens means- Not attacking hard. Not low health, and not elite.
The way you find out it works is by letting it hit you and if you dont die then it worked.

Ok, just to clear what have to do:
- place the egg near a Devious Great-Eel (yes, it is elit)
- stand next to the egg
- Eel comes to check the egg and the egg is exploding
- the Great-Eel becomes Weekened Eel (yes, it is still elit)
- now you can nuke the Eel, you will not die (the Weekened Eel does not hit too big)

Even after weakened he still hits pretty hard. On my priest he hit for around 2000 (4000 crit). However he did lose some health from the explosion (around 30,000 HP lost). It was a close battle, but survivable.

I have the opposite problem. I put the egg and it gets ignored. Both spawn zones. I kill it outright I get the credit for the "Avenge Wolf" but i cannot get the dang eels to acknowledge these bombs I'm dropping next to them.

Edit: ok on my 3rd quest abandon it worked.

OK, here it is.
Go to the far south end to the edge of the cliff.
Find an eel that is stationary or rarely moving.
Plant the egg on the ground. The eel will turn from yellow to red and come down for a visit. The egg blows up rendering him a weakened eel.
Burn him down, wolf is appreciative.

Re MadDragon's comment about not placing the egg before attacking the eel:
Blizz must have changed that, because I placed the egg, the eel came down, the egg exploded and the eel weakened. It takes a long time to kill it, but just keep punching whatever health-regeneration spell you have. You should be able to kill the eel before it kills you---but it'll be close!

lvl 82 fury warrior

First try: Eel never seemed interested, so decided to pull it to the egg. It worked, the egg blew up but a 2nd eel also spawned and they both swiftly chewed me up...

Second try: I go further south to the slow eels, place the egg. Eel gets attracted but at around 50% it started hitting hard as hell, so I thought another egg might do the trick - another eel spawned, and yet again they both chewed me up...

Third try: Yet again it started hitting extremely high at around 50% but this time I just kept on going. Eventually I managed to kill it but it was fairly close sometimes... Would be impossible without all the self-healing stuff, and even then it gives you a scare since it doesn't really heal you fast enough

Yet another quest not working 100%.... -.-'

my egg didnt damage anything so i killed it with attacks it was easy (try self)

You don't need them around to drop the egg,
they are currently yellow to you, but once you drop a egg, a red one will appear and come straight for ya.
If ya want alot of xp just keep dropping the egg before ya turn it in.
Easily done as a 82 prot pally
Accidentally pulled 2 by dropping the egg twice and 15k exp each time
