If you only put in a drop, it asks to verify (guess they really want you to blow it up), and it works, but nothing appears to happen. A bit boring, but it gets the quest done. (Besides, I figure the bad guys would figure out somethings wrong if their stuff blows up...)

To summarize -

You have three options for this quest. They each produce a different visual result, but ultimately the quest is completed by choosing any of the three.

1 - Put in 1 drop (as recommended). This completes the quest with no excitement or pizazz.

2 - Put in 1 flask. This causes a minor "explosion" which causes you to fall down (like when you are charged by something).

3 - Put in 12 flasks. This causes a major explosion which knocks you back pretty far but does not cause you to take damage.

I was going to put only one drop, but as soon as i remembered Betina saying the mixture was TOO POWERFUL, i thought "Let's blow this thing up".
Hilarity ensued.

I threw in all 12 flasks and it threw me back pretty damn far -- easily about 100 yards. I have 32,753 health. Result:

Enthorn falls and loses 11579 health.

So the fall damage took me to 64%. Hilarious, but not threatening of course ;-) I almost made it into the lake! Would be hilarious to try with Slow Fall.

Was leveling my mage alt while doing this quest. I positioned myself between Light's Shield Tower and the cauldron, threw in all 12 bottles and slapped on slow fall. I went nearly as far as Corin's Crossing! Saved me some time walking back, no harm done at all :3

Put in all 12 flasks, knocked me back into the lake. Bad to idea to have water walking if you're a shammy.

1. Fall damage is dependent on your current maximum health. Giving numbers means nothing. A level 80 who takes 20,000 damage doesn't mean a level 45 is going to take 20,000 damage from the exact same fall. Its calculated by a percentage of their maximum health at the time of the fall.

2. Whether or not you take damage at all is most likely dependent on where you stand when you administer the 12 flasks. If you stand in the right place you'll end up in the water. Stand in the wrong place and you get an ugly bruise.

Coords for the cauldron are 62.42,76.38. The first time I put 1 drop in and nothing happened. On the second try I put 1 flask in and it basically knocked me off my feet, as it did with all the cultists around.

Don't remove the cultist disguise as it allows you to run straight through Corin's Crossing back to the tower with no aggro (the undead are all friendly). Supposing, of course, that you aren't completing the quest on your 80. :)

I love it when you get a change too do something different. and as soon i saw you could throw in 12 bottles at once instead of 1 drop choice was pretty easy too make imo^^ blasted me all the way too the lake.

Guess it's hit or miss. I threw in all 12 after reading these, and nothing happened except "the cauldron boils violently." No explosion. Waah!

Just a warning, if you are mounted and put in all 12 flasks, you will *not* get blown back. I had my little Blizzard bear out, and when I put in all 12 flasks, he went flying. (But he came back, no harm done). But I did not actually get knocked back.

All 12 flasks equates to app. 11 - 25% of your hp dependant entirely on where you land :)

I love E. plaguelands. I've done this quest several times, and all those times I've put in only one drop as requested :P I decided to walk on the wild side, and put in all 12 flasks! I'll be doing that from now on.

The flask was used in the last quest to collect samples from the water elementals. After completing that quest however, it vanished from my bags, yet I was still able to throw its contents into the cauldron. Well, its just a game.....

When I accepted the quest, the flask in my bags disappeared and when I hovered over the cauldron, my mouse turned into a gear, but when I right clicked, nothing happened. When I logged out and logged back in, I right clicked and had the option to throw in flasks. So if the quest isn't working for you, log out and log back in.

Interestingly, when I threw in all 12 flasks, I didn't move an inch . . . but all the surrounding cultists went flying. I couldn't stop laughing for a good 10 minutes.

Why would you not put all 12 flasks in? Yep, blew me straight back into the water, no damage, appropriate level. Was very cool. :D

I completed the quest. But she will not respond to me. In fact her name comes up orange instead of green. I can not complete this quest because she will not interact with me.
EDIT
So it had to do with the fact that my Reputation with Argent Dawn was so low. How it got low I'm not certain. Right before I was able to talk to her to complete the quest Deathwing killed everyone (including me) at the tower. I guess there was a glitch or maybe the game assigns me blame for the killing of everyone at Lightshield.

Anyway the Argent Call: The Trial of the Crypt quest reputation is restored and I could continue.

I just had to come here and say that I dropped all 12 flasks and when the explosion occured I bursted out laughing! This quest is amazing!

I gleefully reached right for that third option, a well-developed gamer's instinct knows you can't possibly miss out on the result - even if it coated you in fatal acid, you know you'd laugh.

The best raid stories are not ones where the boss dies. Hardcore types would do well to remember this once in a while.

If for some ridiculous reason you accidentally remove your disguise, line yoursel up between the cauldron and lake and quicky throw in all 12 flasks. You'll be sent flying away from all possible hostiles, and hopefully land in the lake rather than hitting the ground with a crunch. Handy for high-speed extraction.

I too had my flasks disappear but after reading some of the notes here, I decided to try to click on the cauldron anyway. It acted like I still had them and asked me how many drops. I said 1 like Bettina said and nothing happened. It then asked me how many I wanted to drop again. I again said 1 per Bettina and oila the quest was complete w/o being blown up lol. So if you don't want to get blown up just keep saying one drop. :D

Another option for not taking fall damage (if you are a Warlock), is to cast Demonic Circle: Summon & then using Demonic Circle: Teleport soon as you put the drop(s) in. Just be sure to set it a little bit away from the blast zone. I just did it and it worked great! -- Side note: I'm level 85 currently, but going back to finish missed quests.
