Awesome quest, we need more like this in the game.

After you start the quest, follow the instructions and use the Kit they give you and immediatly go into Stealth mode via the Camouflage key.

Instructions:
1. Go to the Cave and use your new DISTRACT ability pull the Guard on the Dragon and the two Orcs guarding the Cave entrance away.

2. Go into the Cave, use your new "Chloroform" ability on the guard who is at the back of the cave.

3. Get the key.

4. Leave the Cave, but don't forget to cast DISTRACTION again to get the guys away from the door.

5. Then go to where the Prisoners are held and free them.

Dunno if this will remain in the game for long, but as of this writing, Jorgensen will actually follow you out of Redridge so long as you don't take a portal or flightpoint.

I still had this quest in my log when I decided to check out Duskwood, and Jorgensen stayed with me! He helped me out with a whole bunch of Duskwood quests and stayed with me for several levels... I was sorry to see him go (seemed to happen at right about the point when this quest turned from green to grey in my quest log).

He doesn't do all that much DPS, but it's nice to have a buddy, and he makes an okay meat shield in a pinch if you have a threat-reducing ability.

Just an interesting little thing to note!

I don't know if its because of the 4.1 patch or not, but considering i recently did this quest with my Shaman and didnt have the problem, im assuming it is. When I activate the field kit and go cloaked, Jorgensen is still running around as per normal. he even ran off on a tangent to go attack nearby enemies. Cause quite a problem as well because even though i distracted them, he would go chasing after and cause aggro and my disguise would fail. Died maybe 10 times before i just ran in while he attacked and got the key.

The Camo doesn't work, Jorgensen is never camo'ed anyway and aggro's everything. The orcs always aggro you before you get to use Chloroform, and the Seaforium charges have to be placed in very specific places or it will fail.

Then, it tells you to go meet up with John Keeshan again, only to find you're supposed to meet him somewhere else and not back at the camp like you would think (though that comes from panicking to get out of the Orc area and not having time to read the quest text, while you're running for your life).

Badly implemented quest mechanics. Unless you're a sucker for frustration and stupid NPCs, forget this ridiculous questline and just go straight to Duskwood instead.

I did this quest several times before Patch 4.1 and Jurgenson always went into stealth mode when I did. Now he won't at all, which makes this series of quests difficult.

I don't know if Blizz have done this to make the quest harder or if it is a bug. Either way it makes the whole thing very tedious.

Shame, because this was an enjoyable quest chain, one of the best, but now I don't bother with it.

This turned out to be a pretty badly designed quest. The camo seems to be removed upon combat, and avoiding combat is impossible because Jorgensen (the npc following you) attacks everything in sight. After they killed him, they killed me. The distract doesn't do much because Jorgensen attacks the distracted mobs, while the chloroformed mobs will hunt you down once they wake up, seemingly regardless of camo. In addition, the field kit cannot be used while in combat, leaving you locked into either the quest action bar or your own once Jorgensen has seen (and therefore attacked) a mob.

If you're just questing in order to level, I'd very much recommend moving to another zone and skipping this quest - assuming that it's actually doable at level, which it sure doesn't seem to be at present.

IMPORTANT: You're likely to die several times completing this. Unequip all your weapons and armor (they won't be very useful anyway). This way you won't run down the durability of all your gear.

I had the problem with my two most recent toons - Jorgensen doesn't camo and so, as stated above, aggros everything in sight. This was not the case several months ago with previous toons. If you have a pet with you the pet camos correctly.

I opened a ticket and a GM tested and confirmed the problem. He said it will "be fixed in the next patch(tm)".

It does make for a very difficult quest until it is fixed, but not impossible. Some points to note:

1. If Jorgensen aggros a mob you can still chloroform it from behind and move on (although the mob will chase you when it recovers)
2. If Jorgensen dies it is no big problem, he will rezz himself shortly after
3. With a bit of care you can forget the field kit and pick off the mobs one at a time, using Jorgensen as a meat shield. For groups of mobs, distraction will get rid of them long enough to grab an objective. If it goes pear shaped you can just run away and let Jorgensen get the beating he deserves for being a pita
4. If you are getting badly stomped you can corpse run the quest, just rezzing nearer the objective each time
5. When you have the key you can approach the cages along the West side by the water without meeting any mobs

Just do other quests until you are very high level, unless you are fond of dying to unforeseen bugs.

Yep, miserable pain in the rear to do. Take off your gear, do it on the run as dingleberry will aggro things and prepare to corpse run a lot.

The quest item is currently also useable outside Redrige Mountains. The camouflage unfortunately doesn't work, but the rat summoning does!

Okay now it's really buggy. Since I'm on a trial account it's hard getting teams so I tried soloing it and failed. I thought I would put off this quest until I get a full account but apparently I can't drop the quest as the current one. Not only am I stuck camoflaged, but the toggle doesn't work to turn it off and every Alliance npc near me is sneaking around and sprouting leaves. J is still following me everywhere I go griping about getting older and being a palidin. It's hilarious to watch me walk through Lakeshire. I may stay this way just for fun. lol

I just did the whole chain and it worked fine, no unusual aggro from Jorgensen. I did die once, the backpack did activate as a ghost, which helped when I resurrected. I wish I could say there was a killer reward from the chain, but it got me a couple of levels.

I really love this quest chain-- and I really dislike this particular quest.

Who thought it would be "fun" to design a quest where you have to use the Distraction ability-- even though you're stealthed-- but also design it so there's about a 75% chance that when you use it, at least one mob will not only ignore the Distraction, but come after you for using it?

The Chloroform ability is also a sick joke. About half of the time, when the Orc "wakes up", he comes running after you and hunts you down.

This would all be fine, if they weren't all Elite mobs who can three-shot you while you have no chance to kill them.

I've done this quest on four characters now, and each time, I've died multiple deaths just from the quest mechanics. Is that supposed to make it "interesting" or "fun" or even "suspenseful"? Suspense is when you know you have to be careful, or you could have some trouble and may not be able to live through it. Knowing you almost certainly will die (repeatedly) due to quest mechanics is not suspenseful-- it's just irritating.

It's a shame, because the chain is awesome. Too bad you have to slog through this one-- it could be awesome too, if it were designed better.

Don't use the Cloroform ability since it will only lead to death when they "wake up" and STILL aggro you through your stealth.

Don't use your distract since it works about 50% of the time.

Just don't do this quest unless you want to die constantly. :|

Your character level makes a difference regarding stealth detection on this one, as usual. It was quite difficult to complete as a level 16.

As others have noted, your companion Jorgensen makes a number of amusing comments about Paladin nerfs, and the overall "weakness" of the class - this is a running joke at Blizzard.

Here are a few of the lines I noticed during this quest and the follow-up :

"Being a paladin is rough. The Light behaves so erratically. Some days I wake up and it feels like all of my powers have been weakened."
"I don't know, maybe the grass really is greener on the other side. You know? Krakauer and Danforth really kick butt as warriors. Maybe I should drop this paladin thing and try out being a warrior."
"My heals really don't have the 'OOMPH' that they used to, <playername>. You know what I'm saying?"
"One time, Keeshan told me that he could take on five of me at once. Why am I so weak?"

well, i had little problem this last time. until it came time for the plant seaforium. it wouldn't show up on field kit. but a quick relog fixed that.

Where the hell are the prisoners I'm supposed to free anyway? The thing I hate most about this quest is J's talking bubbles are so large, they completely block my view of where I'm going and where I am supposed to target the distraction at! ARG!
