I managed to, with great difficulty, move the catapult around the big pillar after wave 3 by fighting with the trogs along the way. You might have to steal aggro from the NPCs and take damage for the catapult to notice.

This worked as normal for me today. Either they've fixed it, or I got lucky. I let the catapult lead the way on the third wave, and he went all the way to them, rather than hanging back and bugging out like he did earlier.

This is a standard escort quest. Just follow the catapult as it works its way to your destination. You will be attacked by 3 packs of troggs along the way. The catapult will help take them out, and none of them are at all difficult.

Did this today without fighting at all. Just hop on your flying mount and hover just above the catapult. It drives right through to the finish. The troggs don't do enough damage to kill it.

Edit: While writing this message I was destroyed by the aggressive NPCs attacking nearby. My corpse has gone missing and I need to spirit res. Pro tip: get somewhere safe before posting!

A quick tip for you druids, the flying mount approach works, swift flight form won't. Escort the catapult while riding a gryphon or something.

Flying form just gets you killed, it doesn't move the troggs at all

On the flying overhead and not killing anything part, I tried that and the first catapult was killed by the first mob to see it. I tried flying ahead to see if it would follow me but it would not no matter where I flew, so sometimes you might find you have to dissmount and actually protect the catapult.
From following attempt it appears the catapult will actually follow you provided you stay close to it and just ahead; If you are too high or too far ahead or just too far away it will not move ahead on its own. Second run was easy enough though I did dissmount and fight a couple of times, weather I had to or not I am not so sure.

thanks for the tip about the flying. The catapult started with 214k hp and did not drop below 180hp.

I think /poke on catapult driver makes it move again.
Already twice it started moving after i poked driver, no idea if it was caused by poke itself or sth else.

War Constructs will be fighting Stone Trogg Berserkers and Stone Trogg Geomancers around you, obviously noticeable anyways. The thing is, when the catapult you are supposed to escort just freezes/stands still, you are still in combat. Which means you've hit some of the Stone troggs with some kind of AoE spell. Kill any nearby Stone Troggs you see, or else you might have to wait about 2-3 minutes to get out of combat. And as probably all of you know, Time is Money.

Im killing mobs for maybe 20 minutes nothing happen only the catapult driver is attacking and attacking who can help me ?

OK just did this and used a few tips from the comments here:

1) Get on flying mount and hover DIRECTLY ABOVE the catapult, it won't stop at the mobs to shoot them and will go almost until the end;

2) when/if the catapult stops JUST /POKE THE DRIVER, IT WORKS!

This quest is completely broken for me. The catapult gets stuck in the ground and when I do manage to get him to the objective the dialogue triggers but the quest is not marked as completed and the catapult just turns around and attacks random stuff.

Did this quest today - I didn't know about the flying above the catapult tip but as I walked along side it, no troggs attacked. I got all the "Stone troggs are attacking", "Here come more stone troggs. Defend the Catapult", "Looks like a last ditch effort by the stone troggs . Your destination is just around the corner!" messages but nothing appeared. The catapult didn't stick or anything either. Weird but easy.

New bug in 4.3 for this quest that a GM confirmed for me - the Troggs don't spawn like they are supposed to when the text says so.

Now that it really matters, guess it just saves a little time.

YOU MUST DO THIS QUEST. Blizzard have made this quest a "bottle-neck" in your questing in Deepholm. With 3 toons, same thing ... I have got to 60/100 Deepholm quests, and no other yellow ?'s to keep questing with. By the time I came with third toon, I KNEW I had to do this one quest. Once you have done it, a whole series of quests open up, which is why I am here with this toon. Loremaster for Deepholm is not possible unless you do THIS quest. (Use Wowhead to find questgiver location and the lead-up quests).

Before you go any further, scroll down to a post from Whiterock. It contains a diagram of a chain of quests. Fer some reason it's been voted down, but THAT post, and maybe my comments below it will explain the significance of Close Escort. You GOTTA do it, otherwise further progress in Deepholm is impossible. If Whiterock's post helps, PLEEZ vote it back UP ! Now, go to bladedrummer's excellent post in green at top of this area, to tell you HOW to do it.

This is hilarious!

I took this quest and at the moment that the catapult appeared, I went invisible (feral druid). I just walked across everything without having to fight.
The quest will warn you that 'here comes the throgs' etc... but none appears.

Don't need to be a rogue. Nothing attacks the catapult as long as they're busy fighting the Defenders and War Constructs
