The ship comes in on the dock where the ship to borean normally comes since your phased as soon you accept the quest.
You need to wait on the roleplay event before the ship comes in.

So, I just went onto the ship, and ended up next to the NPC which is supposed to end the quest for me. But the quest didn't complete. Bug?

Make sure when you're on the boat en route that you are not flying. If you are, you might not sink with the boat and ride it back to Stormwind feeling quite silly.

When you accept this quest, you will be in phase.
You must no go to the end of dock, and wait. Soldiers will arrive and whole scene will take place - they will be talking about dragon attack etc.
Finally after some time ship will arrive. Then you will travel to Vashjir - without any loading screen.
At the destination - an underwater creature with tentacles will attack ship and kick you off it into water. At the end Erunak will rescue you - now story continues.

If you don't complete this quest, you'll remain phased. Quests like Rallying the Fleet (part of the Twilight Highlands entry quests) cannot be completed while you have Call of Duty in your quest log.

This quest is bugged. The soldiers line up and get stuck at the end of the dock and never actually make it onto the boat. Then the sea monster doesn't show up once the boat stalls. Way to go Blizzard, can't even make the intro quest to the new zone work...

Make sure you take the ~~boat~~ dock that normally goes to Northrend! I kept flying around looking for a new dock both in beta and in live lol. EDIT: I meant to say dock, not boat. I know it is not the same boat.

When you take this quest, you are phased in the Stormwind Harbor.
You will not ba able to see the boats that normally go to Northrend or to Rut'theran.
So if you don't plan to go straigth to Vashj'ir, don't take the quest.

You can actually complete the quest without waiting for the mercenary ship. I grew bored of waiting for the ship on the Stormwind docks, so I decided to fly there myself. You can make the flight without dying of fatigue, at least with a 310% + 20% Flying speed.

The objective is completed once you touch the water in the coordinates where the ship would normally be attacked by a underwater creature. After that you can continue to Erunak Stonespeaker to complete the quest.

Just a small reminder - wait for as long as it takes. I waited for 5-10 minutes, reading comments here and nothing happened. I thought I was bugged or something.
THEN, soldiers came to me on the dock.

It is the longest dock which is the Northernmost one. Yes takes 4ever for boat to get there...confirmed lol

Go to the dock that takes you to Borean Tundra. Wait there after the cut scene for about 2-4 minutes. The boat will come.

Having this Quest in your log will prevent the Northrend ship from coming now. So if you're looking to go to Northrend you must drop this quest before the boat will appear.

In order to get you must completePreparando o nosso lombo before accepting.
and are NOT needed to take and followups, however that would make you unable to get.
Colar da Lady La-La have 0% drop chance before done and 100% after, however anyone can share you this quest as long as you are 80+lvl.
Anyone can take and do it's followups as long as they are 80+lvl. Quests above are NOT needed for it.

Just make sure you're not standing on the merc boat on a flying mount. If you are the boat will pull out from under you, leaving you standing on a blank pocket above the water. Had to drop the quest and pick it up again when I did it. D:

Accepting the quest instantly puts the player in a new phase in the harbor. Head to the dock that normally takes players to Borean Tundra. While in the new phase, the rest of the harbor NPCs disappear

Call of Duty "Black Ops"

Oce you recieve the quest go to the end of the Norhrend Deck , wait and watch the Story while they wait for the ship with Red and Black sails to come in. Get on Board.

Wait to the very end and the Giant Octypus Legs Grab the Ship. this ship is under water, The Quest completion is inside the sunken ship.

The boat never shows up on the ptr patch 4.3 ... Ive been waiting for at least 40mins and watched the npc conversations run through 5 or 6 times :( ... whats up with that? yes ive tried dropping and re-acquiring boat never shows up

This quest still takes 5+ minutes (10+ ? I lost track) to start, even with Cataclysm almost a year old. Just wait... and wait... and wait.... and the soldiers will eventually come down the dock to star the RP, which leads to the boat coming.

This quest is currently bugged. No comments from WoW Dev either.

Various solutions, but none that consistently work.

1> Try flying to the area. (either by your own mount or by Gryphon)
1a> Swim to the ? and complete.
1b> If you do get a ship and it despawns or glitches, don't ride it back.. Jump off and try step 1a above.
1c> Either port or hearth back and return to SW and try the ship again.

2> If you can't get the quest to work. Abandon. You won't be able to use the ships in SW until you do.

3> You can pick it up again from the recuiter at the begining of the dock if you need to.

If the boat does not come for you, you can get there by flying from the western edge of Dun Morogh. I was able to reach Vashj'ir in 280% flight form with ease.

You will want to have some form of underwater breathing, however.

I was able to complete the quest by hopping a Gryphon from SW to Shimmering Strand and then mounting my gryphon and flying to the location. After waiting about 3 minutes I got a "Completed" message and the ? Appeared.

I flew down to the water, dismounted and swam to the bottom where the ship is. You have to enter the ship through doors on the deck of the capsized (Upside down) ship to turn in the quest. There is enough breath to do this provided you swin down and don't get distratcted by the Vashj"ir Raiders. I was right above the ? when I did this. The path down was clear at this point. To far off of this location and you will encounter the raiders. At lvl 80, they are pretty tuff and if you entounter more than 2 and are lvl 80 yourself you will die.

After turning it in, you get another quest, Sea Legs, where you gather 3 starfish and a counch shell that will get you a permanent spell that allows you to breath underwater in Vashj"ir.

There is enough breath to complete this one as the materials are near at hand and away from attackers. Of course, if other questors are nearby, the materials take a while to respawn so you will have to return to the ship to breath.

The flight path was not open for me so I flew to the edge of Dun Morogh as suggested. It works with 150% flying just fine and the quest completed as I flew over the wreckage. Too bad this quest is busted, I liked being thrown around by a giant monster.

1. for me whent he soldiers are walking down the dock the captain taylor dude isnt with them.

2. Also after all the dialouge, they wait a couple seconds and then respawn.

3. repeat steps 1 and 2

This quest is bugged as of the latest patch; the boat will not show up, and the NPCs will despawn after discussing boarding a mercenary vessel.

Here is a workaround... sadly, you won't see the great scene that happens once you board the boat... but if you fly to Vashjir (go via Ironforge or you might die of fatigue) and fly to where the quest would normally complete, you should complete it.

WoWhead is not allowing me to post a link to the picture of my map to show where to go, but the overturned boat is in the lower left corner of Seafarer's Tomb in Kelp'thar Forest.

quest is still bugged soldiers keep respawning and walking towards end of dock last part of text is when park is destroyed. other half of the RP event doesn't happen was bugged before 4.3 and still bugged as of current patch

I think Blizzard's have done something wrong to this quest in the new pach, i've been standing, wating for the ship like an hour and it hasent arrived yet, i have also tried to set the graphix to ultra, not working either...

Currently, as per GM, this quest is incompletable. Supposedly it should be fixed soon.

Waited today through 5 rotations of their conversation. After "Stormwind Soldier says: If you ask me, the beast is insane.", they all disappear like phase out is ruined.
After that I flew out of there on my own. :P

Its not possible to complete as of 4.3.0, so i decided to fly here. I am paladin, with 150% mount, so i flew really slowly. I did not make it here (died of fatigue a moment before vash'jir), but when i released, my spirit was at GY in vash'jir. So i ressurrected and flyed to the place where i got credit for that quest.

So, it's possible to get there even with 150% mount.

Ok guys just to help all the guys out there who can't or couldn't complete the phase quest call of duty.
I personally flew to IF and from there to kelp' thar .But the thing is that the other phase quests such as all or nothing are bugged also ... so the best solution to that is to quest to hyjal for now....

Until this gets fixed. Fly out from Kharanos to Vashj'ir (44,23) and swim straight down, under and in to the over turned ship to complete Call of Duty quest.

Before 4.3 the buff was on my toon but now it does nto show up... I kept playing with it adding it and getting rid of it (quest) a lot of NPCs go away and come back... the boats jump too its so weird... Im trying a few things but looks like I'm gonna fly there too...

I had the Call of Duty quest in my bag for quite a while. After abandoning it and retaking, the required NPC was there at the dock. Nothing happened for 5 mins but then the event started so it seems that it has been fixed.

This quest has been fixed, all you have to do is walk down the dock and let them talk... for awhile and the boat arrives.

Definitely fixed. You just have to wait right to the end of the pier and they should start talking right away. There shouldnt really be any waiting involved beyong you getting there and the convo starting between the soldier and the recruit that are on the right corner of the dock.
