This is your PERFECT opportunity to get some fishing done in Orgrimmar!

The Fishing Diplomat and Old Crafty should be done at this point.

The Orgrimmar you are in is not the 'real' city, but the game treats is like it is such.

Instead of taking the portal back to Stormwind, i wandered around. This zone has only a few non-hostile guards and no PCs or other NPCs. You are totally safe in this zone! I ran over to the Valley Of Honor and started fishing, and immediately got the first achievement. I'm not leaving till i get the second. =)

Please note that Jaina is also in Stormwind keep, dont do the same mistake as me, I went to Theramore where you can not complete the quest :-)

This is an example of the new "phasing" tech that blizzard uses. It's basically the ability to have multiple "layers" of NPC's, doodads and other objects that can only be seen on that certain phase.
The same is true in the death knight starting zone. If you invite another player to your group who is on a different part of the chain than you are, then you will be able to see their dot on the minimap, but you will not be able to see that actual player, as they are on a different phase!

I confirm for the Fisherman Diplomat Achievement... but it's good to do Ragefire Chasm achievement...you can enter into the istance, do that and go to speak whit Thrall! Cool!

I found out, you can go through the portal back and forth as many times as you want as long as you don't turn in to the king. just keep asking Jaina to open a portal.

Think so. I've been coming back here for about 3 days. Caught over 1.5k fish while I've been in orgrimmar :S

Still no sign of old crafty and I'm getting really tired of fishing

And here was I, with the mindset to go and kill all the Forsaken myself for the events at Wrathgate. Hell, I was half-hoping for a Orgrimmar-Stormwind Alliance against the Forsaken in a future patch (I thought it might make an interesting twist for the future). Then I saw what Thrall and Sylvanas had to say, and the entire story came out. So my hatred of the undead goes back to pre-quest levels.

You can make catching "Old Crafty" far easier by picking up the fishing daily quest "Crocolisks in the City" from outside shattrath. If you turn off autoloot, and then DON'T loot the croc - old crafty will be caught within a few catchs.
Then you can loot both safely and get the achievement saving yourself a thousand or so casts.

I'd abandoned this part of the chain about a week ago, and even with the quest abandoned, you'll still be in an "empty Orgrimmar" any time you try and enter the city.

Got Crafty and RFC achievements but it took a while for me to figure out why the guards weren't attacking and I couldn't see anyone.

I am currently working on getting Old Crafty. I'm doing the fishing while doing the quest Fate, Up Against Your Will so it will be easier. I left to go upgrade my fishing skill so I still get points for the countless hours I'm going to end up spending here. You can drop the quest that you get from Thrall and still port back to Orgrimmar. Also, you can log out, and log back in and you will be in the same place with no guards. NOTE: I found no usable mailbox.

The whole city is changed. However going to the bridge that leads outside the city will cause the guards to chase you and most likely kill you if you're kicked off the mount.

As of 3.0.8, if you explore phased Orgrimmar you will find a number of new NPCs. In the Valley of Strength, you will find Forsaken Refugees. You will also find a gathering of orcs and a pair of tauren talking to Overload Runthak. However, eveyrthing they say is in Orcish. There is nothing going on in the Valley of Spirits, the Cleft of Shadows, the Drag, or the Valley of Honor.

Is it still possible to fish Old Crafty out of the phased Orgrimmar? I know they nerfed the "crocolisks in the city" bug, but did they nerf Old Crafty from the phased Orgrimmar completely? I had the bad luck of getting "Fate, Up Against Your Will" and then finding out about all this the day after 3.0.8...I've made about 1500-2000 casts so far with no luck yet

I sure hope so but so far 400+ casts and not a sniff of old Crafty. Hopefully we will get some confirmation in the next few days because the phased Horde cities are interfering with the Elder achievements for the Luner Festival.

If you ask me, they probably made it that you'll need 10 times more casts in the phased Orgrimmar than you'll need in the unphased so I guess you can do it faster sneaking,the old way.

As of the 3.1 patch on April 14 2009, all I'm getting while in the "phazed" Orgrimmar is an empty loot box while fishing. Is this something they changed in the patch so that we can no longer catch any fish while doing this quest and visiting Orgrimmar? I caught Old Crafty on another toon about a week before the 3.1 patch, so I know it was possible to do so then, but now i'm not getting any catches. This was with a lvl 80 toon, I tried with a lvl 40 toon just running into the regular/normal Orgrimmar and caught Old Crafty in about 45 mins leveling from skill lvl 200 to 225. So, I'm assumming that we can no longer catch Old Crafty while in the "phazed" Orgrimmar during the "Fate, Up Against Your Will" quest.

As of 3.1.0 you can no longer zone into Ragefire Chasm nor can you fish in the phased Orgrimmar.

I just try to do the fishing as described above but no luck the new patch prevents you from catching anything in orgrimmar while you are on the quest fate, up against your will. you can cast and the bobber will bob but no fish will be in the loot bag try for 2 hours and nothing. the icon in the corner of the loot bag was a skull and crossbones. very disapointing concidering that when i found out about the glich i did everything i could to get all the quest done up to it an now i have to do it the right way lol like i did with my main that was a pain.

If you are unable to see any NPC or fellow players in Orgrimmar and Undercity. Then this chain quest is the problem. Restart te quest and complete it and you will be able to raid them again.

If you are in a raid for (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/achievement=614) you will not be able to see your raid. However if you stay in the boss room while your raid is completing the boss you will still get the kill.

Unfortunately as of 3.1 you cannot enter Ragefire Chasm in the phased city. The portal looks active, but you walk into it and nothing. You can still complete the Fishing Diplomat achievement by fishing the Crocolisk in the City, but there are no other fish there now...no Old Crafty.

You can no longer catch fish while phased for this quest. I am going to try and find out how far down the questline I have to go to get unphased. I wish there was something here that actually discussed what you do on this quest.

I found out the hard way that this will also lock out any Midsummer Fire Festival activity from the regions Durotar and Tirisfal Glades as well as the cities of Orgrimmar and the Undercity. Since mobs are phased out, so are the bonfires. There are no tents, Midsummer Suppliers, or Celebrants for this festival while on this quest chain. I suspect any other events that involve cross faction concepts will also be affected.

Edit: I just wrapped up this quest chain and all the areas are back to normal! I've never been so happy to die at horde hands. :)

You can travel to the zeppellin tower outside Orgrimmar and catch a ride to the Undercity. Same rules apply, you're in a phased version of the place. Attempting to get into the Undercity, you find that the lifts have been removed, leaving firey spikey doom at the bottom.

However, if you manage to survive the fall (paladin, much?) you'll find the majority of the Undercity deserted, with many of the weapons used at the Wrathgate around. Also a few bodies littered.

Attempting to leave the place via the sewers, there are many -many- of Putress' minions around.

That's about it.

What happens if your in a raid group trying to kill Thrall, and u talk to him.

Since well when u enter the city with the raid group they all disappear and no one attacks you..SO I go all the way to thrall where everyone is fighting, quite esy to see on the mini map but I stand there alone surronded by Orc's not doing anyhting.. OH OH look a ? on thrall's head mabey I should talk to him since I can't seem to find this battle anywhere.

As soon as I talk to him a big Raid warning comes up tht says "someone snitched" I then go offline before I get razzed to death.

Did I just screw up an entire raid on Thrall? making me most hated on realm ha. obviously I've never made it to thrall to fight him before. but I could'nt find any notes any where tht said don't go on raid when your on this quest and don't talk to him.

DO I dare log back on :)

K I just saw the note above tht said I should have just waited until raid group killed him but ? still remains wht was raid warning "someone snitched"

Edited to add: I did find NPCs in Durotar. Just outside Orgrimmar on the road to the Eastern zappelin tower I ran into a continous stream of Forsaken refuges. To my surprise, the zappelins to UC/STV were functioning normally. I took the zappelin to Grom'gol. At first it seemed there was no crew , but a short moment after boarding they did appear. At Grom'gol, a low-level troll came aboard. I attempted some conversation, and when we arrived in Durotar he was visible to me... until we both left the ship and I got phased again. Also checked for the zappelin to Borean, but it didn't show up.

Remember to speak with Lady Jaina, DONT travel to orgimmar ( like I did ).
She will make you a portal to Origmmar.

I just teleported into Orgrimmar and was immediately swarmed by Thrall and all the other NPCs inside Grommash Hold. Is this a bug?

I've joined a for the alliance raid while on this quest. When I entered orgrimmar I entered the 'phased' world, and I could see nobody except for the other 5 people who were also on the quest. So we waited in the phased world for the people in the real world to kill thrall. Luckily we also got the achievement :). Then we went to Untercity, and we did the battle for undercity. the same people as before were in the phased world of undercity. However, the battle for undercity ended before the raid killed the leader, so all in the 'phased' teleported to stormwind, and did't get credit for the kill. Luckily for me, I've already got the achievement but some other people were really %^&*ed off.

Well I have been in phased Orgrimmar and it is not possible to fish up Old Crafty anymore. However, if you have the quest Crocolisks in the City, you fish up a baby Crocolisk in Orgrimmar, for your Fishing Diplomat achievement.

When I was in Orgrimmar with a guildie we have found a perfect fishing spot at 65,25, behind the waterfall and the rocks. If you use /sleep, nobody can see you, unless they get near.

False splunge, Since some patches ago they fixed this bugg. It is not impossible to cath the Fish in Org if you have started the quest. And abandoned it after, You have to complete the quest line to be able to catch this fish if you have started it.

You see guards and they act if they don't see you.

Also you can fish but cannot get anything during fishing there except leveling up your fishing.

I have no intention of EVER turning this quest in.

It allows me to port from Stormwind to Orgrimarr anytime I want, and as an alliance that's an area that could take a long time to get to, as there is no quick way to that area otherwise. (Except maybe to go from booty bay to ratchet, but I like to keep my options open. And waiting on neutral boats on Cho'gall is brutal.)
It allows me to use the horde zeppelins without having to fight guards OR horde players, which is great.

Beware! This quest already phases Tirisfal Glade and Undercity for the last quest. So if you want to do Midsummer event you probably need to finish entire quest chain. Or maybe just drop it?

As of 4.0.1, due to the cataclysm events coming, All of the city leaders are meeting in stormwind. This creates a strange situation with this quest.

THERE ARE TWO JAINAS.

Make sure you click on the one near Varian to open the portal. The one facing him will not respond.

It took me almost an hour to realize this, since using /tar Jaina targetting the wrong one out of coincidence.

Funny that with the pre-Cata events, all of the Alliance leaders are in the throne room, so if you start this quest, two copies of Lady Proudmoore will be present.

You can still get The Fishing Diplomat achievement (O diplomata pescador) if you have the Crocolisks in the City-quest (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=11665#criteria-of).

Hello all just returned from Orgrimar and i could not fish, too high. I could not get into the instant. BUT I did explore Durotar and got the achivement for exploration.

Lady Jaina is right next to the king in SW. Just talk to her and she will open the portal to Ogrimmar and no horde will attack you. Easy!

Here's a handy tip for those of you doing achievements: While in the instanced version of Ogrimmar, you can go outside of Thrall's house and fish in the ponds. None of the guards will attack nor will there be any players since this is an instanced version, so if you're looking for Old Crafty, you can fish undisturbed for as long as you need. You can also enter Ragefire Chasm and complete that dungeon achievement. If you can't do it in one day, just hearthstone back out, talk to Jaina again to open the portal when you're ready and keep doing that until you get what you need, then you can finish the Thrall quest.

Note, that this trick does NOT work with the Midsummer quest to steal the flame from the opposing cities. Bummer.

You can no longer fish in this phased version of Orgrimmar as you could in the original game. You can cast out a line and wait for a bite, but it always returns an empty drop. Tested both in the Valley of Honor, and the Valley of Spirits.

Edit: Also, you cannot enter Ragefire Chasm
