After you've done the initial quests you can return to him every 8 hours, I believe, and click through the chat boxes to do another run for coins by bringing him kegs.

For the horde it's rougly 50-55 seconds to make a trip back and forth and you get 30 seconds back when you hand in a keg.

Therefore it's rougly 9 kegs for a perfect run, or 18 coins for a perfect run. You generally lose too much time due to the terrain and lag. Even with a lag-free run when you hand in the last keg you'll have around 40 seconds tops, which is not enough time to make another run to get another keg.

This is, of course, going full speed the whole way and hitting an apple crate in the middle and the apple crates at each end.

If you have good ping and litte lags it IS possible to skip the basket near Ram Master. However when you get back to the middle one you have like 90-95 fatigue so if anything lags you are done for good;P

Sadly, the repeatable race he gives you does not seem to reset at 4AM like the dailies. My friend tells me he has a 12 hour reset, so in theory you could do the repeatable barrel race twice a day?

The map:
Apple A <- X -> Keg Drop (R.M. Ray) <- 95% -> Apple B <--> Apple C <- 85% -> Keg Pickup (Bok D.) <- X -> Apple D

If you want do this fast and safe, skip Apple A and Apple D and touch the keg thrower and Ram Master Ray.

Maybe not the fastest method, but it works perfectly:
When you go from Apple C to Keg Pickup you only waste 40-45% of your fatigue. When you touch the keg throwing NPC and get back to Apple C again, you will be at 85-90% fatigue. Skipping Apple A is a little bit more dangerous. On your way back, after you reset your fatigue with Apple B, you will have to touch Ram Master Ray to deliver the Keg. When you get back to Apple B you will have 95% fatigue. I suggest you to touch the NPCs because you miss them in laggy situations.

Just realized that you don't drop the kegs to Ram Master Ray but the other goblin next to him. It doesn't matter though. It still works fine...

So when is this 12 hour timer supposed to work? I did the quest around 12:30AM. I've been waiting since 11AM this morning and it's 4PM now. The goblin won't give the quest to me again.

So far my personal best on the 'Do you still need some help moving kegs from the crash site... ?' has been 8 turn-in's (16 tokens), is that about the max everyone else has been getting?

edit: Got to 9 turn-in's lastnight. Had about 30 sec left to start the next run and i had to circle 2 barrels bc they didnt work at first during the last run. Hoping to hit 10 turn-in's tonight!

I did it at 11:45-12:00 and at 0:50 i couldnt do it again and at 9:00 i could so its 18h reset timer for sure.

16 coins here even thou i missed 1 basket of apples and got slowed down.

It's either 10 hours or 8 hours for me since I did it just before 6 am here and was able to do it again just after 4 pm the same day.
I was confused by the person saying 18 hours as well, but I now know it is a shorter reset.

contrary to what others say, it's on an 18hr cooldown not 12.
was able to talk to a GM about this matter so yes he was able to confirm it.

other than the ticket, people were saying there's a note on wow somewhere that it is on an 18hr cooldown now. according to some it has been on a diff timer during the past brewfest events which is why it led most people to think a 12hr cd for this daily.

many are still complaining though that an 18hr cd is just bad and might as well make it a daily with a set amount of tokens as a reward. nothing regarding this plea though :P

I got 24 today. Maybe even could have gotten 26, but when I tapped some of the apple barrels, I got hung up.

I found it amusing on one lap. I usually do a 180 right a good distance away from him. So the animation for the barrel took awhile to catch up to me. I make it all the way back to get my 2 tokens and almost to the first barrel til if finally hit me. I think I got about 5 whispers asking me my technique. Of course everyone tries to talk to you when you're running it...

Edit: They didn't want to make it a daily because some people may have the time to run it every 18 hours. If they made it a daily, those people would be limited. And they didn't want to make it 12 hours because (stupid reasoning if you ask me) the people that DO have the time, won't be able to outdo everyone else in tokens. That's what I got out of their reasoning. 18 hours is a decent compromise I guess.

Weird I did this at 12pm logged on and at about 9pm I did it again so idk what's wrong. It's not 18 hours for sure cause I did it again at 2pm today. Idk what the time between them is.

Most definitely not an 18 hour cooldown, done it 3 times in the last 24 hours and all since the server maintenance to put patch 3.2.2 in place - once just after the patch, again at night (about 12 hours later) and again this morning only about 11 hours since I did it last night. Best I've managed is 26 tokens in the run. If doing the Horde one you can go full speed all the way just hitting the middle 2 apple baskets and not get fatigued but even my best run I made a few mistakes so I reckon a perfect run you could even hit 30.

The alliance run is slightly quicker than the horde.

I just did alliance and got 28 with a perfect run.

There's definitely something weird about the timer... my roommate and I did the barrel run at the same time last night (around midnight) and today, at 12:30pm, he was able to pick it up, but I wasn't. It's been half an hour and I'm still waiting...

Don't accept the ramracing quest while shapeshifted into a Dark Iron Dwarf (Iron Boot Flask). You aren't able to use the ram, and will automatically dismount you right away! The NPC won't give you another chance to do it again...

Don't know if the same problem occurs when under influence of other shapeshifting devices like Orb of Deceptions e.g.

Hope someone can verify this.

I'm not really sure if it's 18 hours for the reset time... I did the run at 5 am, after the server reset, then I did it again at 1 pm, which is 8 hours. Either the run is glitching or they got the timing wrong.

Not sure yet, but prob the time is random reseted or influenced by the number of coins you get from previous run, I did the rune on my mage yesterday at 20:00 and after 2 hours (22:00) on my dk and druid, this morning the run was available for my druid at 10:00 but not for dk and mage.

My record are 36tokens per race. 38-40 could be possible. Just skip the first (start) the third and the last(kharanos after the KegNPC) applekeg.

True, the situation is lagged like f***. Dunno if blizzard intended such lags as part of drunken randomness, but lag here can occur on ANY step. You can run close to Keg thrower and he wont throw a keg, you can touch that ram master and you wont deliver your keg...finally you can bump right into the basket - and not have your fatigue reset for like a SECOND! Nowadays people dont have so @#$%ty connection to have lags about it, so turning off UI is the best option. But still not guaranteed. As for your strat, I never use and even never noticed the basket behind the goblins, as well as I never use the basket behind keg thrower. Using both of them will make your run not 50-55 seconds, but over a minute, which may as well result in the loss of one turn in. I use the Ray->App B->App C->KegThrower route, which is the most risky. A few tips about the lags and how to avoid them:
1. Since you deliver the keg to the goblin next to Ray, dont think that running near Ray will save you, nor that touching Ray will do. This place lags like 3 to 1 turn ins, due to a lot of scum running nearby. Best advice is to control ur mount hard and make a single step after Ray, then immediate turn back. This way you can HOPE that you will throw your keg behind. If this fails - run to the basket behind him(idk where is it).
2. Apple B: a very annoying position for the basket. Even if you touch Ray and are one step from reciever, you still may get to this basket at 90-95 fatigue. Normally, you will have your fatigue restored in a moment. But Blizz is Blizz, so you can as well 3-1 get exhausted ram without any fatigue. IF you've chosen to touch the RECIEVING goblin, WITHOUT going to the Apple A, you are screwed, trust me.
3. Apple C: This is probably the safest spot, but with like 1% chance, you can miss the reset even on this stage. Best way then is to touch the basket behind the thrower.
4. Thrower: Not as f***ed as goblin reciever, this one still may ignore you. Normally, you dont have to touch him, as sometimes he even throws you the keg before you turn back. Touching him is an obvious waste of time, but if you will count on luck and turn back like 5 yards before him, you can get a lag. 5-1 chances I would say, he sometimes throws the kegs SO late, that I've had mine fly right to the Ray, like the keg didnt reach me, and I have already thrown it to the reciever.
So thanks for the system, AlicanC, and hope these tips will help others to get 16-20 tokens daily. Personally, I havent made over 20 tokens, as every single day one or another lag occurs. If you are lucky, using the route above will get your 24 tokens, but even with 2 exhausts, you can still get like 16. So GL!(I wouldnt dare call it HF....)
Edit: today got 22 tokens from the race(with 2 lags at reciever goblin), so would suggest the following tactic: Apple B->Apple C -> Thrower->C->B->A-> touch the reciever. As I said, Apple A isnt neccessary, but it will take only about 2 more seconds, and will reduce chances on reciever and Apple B lagging to 1-10%(from 50-90%). Apple D is still a waste of time, unless you were too lucky to get a lag at Apple B and C.

This sums up to a total of 752 tokens needed.

Collecting ONLY 40 a day, it would take me 19 days to get it all! Meaning, NOT attainable in one single event !

And I got a day job. So, even more difficult to farm it every single day.

That is not exactly true.

The 350 for the brewfest attire can be bought, used, then returned to get your coins back from what I'm told... Try it...

Plus the 15/day for the bark daily, and 10/day for defending the attack, that's 25/day...

Add to that the 16-20ish you can get every 18 hours...

The brewfest achievement CAN be done in one year... Had I read beforehand that you can return the attire, I'd have had all of it.

As it is now, I have the brewfest achievement and title after only 5 days of trying, as well as the pint-sized pachyderm... I still MAY be able to get the attire (and keep it) in the 9 remaining days of brewfest to complete all the achievements (except the brew of the year, which will take a year to complete)... (about 41-45/day between this quest and the dailies - if I do this quest once per day, more if I plan on doing this quest every 18 hours)....

This NPC has been moved since Cata. He can now be located in Durotar at 42,17.

Also, the path for the barrel quest + apple barrels has changed. You no longer are heading for Razor Hill. You'll be heading halfway to Bladefist Bay.

The location of the apple barrels are as follows (from quest giver to barrel tosser)

Apple Barrel 1: 43,17 (RIght Behind the questgiver)
Apple Barrel 2: 44,16 (Next to a tent past the archers)
Apple Barrel 3: 49,13 (Behind the fence to your left)
Apple Barrel 4: 50,13 (Behind the NPC who tosses the barrels at you)

The NPC who tosses the barrels is located at 50,13 as well.
