When killed, you get a spore buff that lasts 5min greatly increasing your stats. You must be within melee range to get the buff. All versions of the sporebat give this buff, so it can be useful to kill one nearby before engaging other creatures.

During every fight with one of these, they use a skill called "Spore Cloud" which does a few nature damage and reduces your armor by 15%. Leave the cloud while fighting the mob to get rid of the buff.

They share the same regen nodes with Bloodthirsty Marshfangs. So kill they guys to make spore bats generate if they are too few on your map.

took me a lot of kills to notice that it's a 'cloud', (spore cloud) not a buff. So just step backwards a bit and you're save from the poison

Hunters, go collect your sporebat and level it before the patch. 30% reduced cast speed with a CD actually shorter than it's uptime. Will be very useful for those pesky healers in arena.

This is a beauty
the mos beautifull in all the spore bats and when tamed its racial its very usefull when you are killing casters, its a good way to reduce the heroism power stat (hero = -30% casting speed racial = +20% casting speed = +10% casting speed) but wont null its efect

Hunters: this is actually a much more useful pet than it used to be, and is worth a second look. The casting speed debuff reduces casting speed by 30% for ten seconds, but it only has a 5.6 second CD,which means your sporebat can keep it up all the time. There are several BC instances where casters will run to melee range and group up, and your sporebat can AOE them all.

Its a very pretty/colorful pet, and not often used, so if you like an unusual pet this is a good one. They are also a very quiet pet. Although they fly, they don't "flap", they just float everywhere.

the sporbat is an awesome pet, i tamed it at lvl 61 and its armour and attk stats are alot better than my lvl 61 bear.

he is better at holding aggro aswell than a bear, if you dont know wat pet is best for dungeons or group quests then choose a sporebat.

Now I have heard alot of criticism from players about this pet so I went to Zangarmarsh and trained one...This animal can only learn growl but I decided to keep him and let him reach the same level as my bear (loyalty at 6 and level 63)...I received alot of compliments about him and i didnt notice that too many hunters had one of these creatures....Well I got both creatures to the same level and loyalty...The stats were the same between the 2 except for AC (Bear 7982 and Sporebat 7706) and HP (Bear 5382 Sporebat 4983)...The bear can do more damage becuz of claw and bite but if I would keep the Sporebat longer he had much more TP available than the bear did so as he went up in level his AC and HP could improve where the bear could not because his TP available was alot less then the Sporebat....So yes the bear can do more dmg but I think if u get the Sporebat and stick with it until it hits level 70 The AC and HP would either match the bear or or do better....The Sporebat is a beautiful but plain creature when it comes to abilities but I do believe that it would be a good tank for U...Becuz it was for me

Pet training points are based on 2 factors: pet level and pet loyalty. All level 70 pets @ max loyalty have exactly 350 training points regardless of pet type.

The sporebat's base damage (before training) is 9% higher than the bear's. The sporebat also has higher INT and SPI attributes. Unfortunately INT and SPI are almost completely useless for your pet (pets do not have mana and cannot cast spells). The sporebat does 9% higher base damage than a bear, though if damage is important, the inability to learn "Claw" or "Bite" would make the sporebat a poor choice.

The sporebat has lower stamina, agility, armor, and health than the bear, and contrary to your observations, earns exactly the same number of training points (350 at level 70 with max loyalty) as all other pets. The sporebat is not the best choice for a tanking pet.

I am totally addicted to killing sporebats of all sizes.

Killing a spore bat give you a 5 minute buff called Energizing Spores. +30 to all attributes. and the usual 400-500+ unrested x per kill. Skinnable and drop Fertile spores for Sporeggar turnins.
