The stink bombs are brown clouds underground, within the main city halls. They are not upstairs in the Ruins of Lordaeron where you get the quest, as you might think.

Let's be honest- with the slime canals, rotting meat wagons, and abominations wandering around, is cleaning up a few stink bombs really going to make such a difference?

The Stink Bombs are smoky orange clouds in the Undercity. Throw the Arcane Cleanser over top of them.

You can also clean yourself, other players and NPC's if you get stunk by walking through one of the clouds.
