Soloable, did it as 85 premade shaman with pvp gear. You can kite him, just keep him on distance. Doesn't hit extremly hard, had my earth elemental tanking.

He wanders around in a clockwise circle and stays on the main road, he does not branch out to the tower roads. The only special attack he does is "Log Smash" which has a cast time and hits for about 12k.

I was easily able to solo him with an average gear score of 319 and 110k health in Bear form.

He's stunable, so you can temporarily stop the log smashs. But eventually, they will come crashing down.

He also patrols both clockwise & anticlockwise. No set spawn location.

I had a lot of trouble soloing this as a rogue.

My tactic was as follows:

Assasination spec, with Deadly Brew. Standard poisons (Instant MH, Deadly OH, Deadly Thrown). Make sure you have glyph of Fan of Knives for the increased radius.

With the glyph, your FoK has a SLIGHTLY longer range than Problim's melee range. Provided you can keep applying poison with your FoK he will get snared via Crippling Poison from Deadly Brew.

Takes a long time but it's the only way so far I've worked out to solo it as a Rogue.

Hope this helped any Rogues having trouble with this quest, and I'd love to hear from other Rogues some tactics to beat him that could possibly be easier than mine.

After several tries I now have two ways of soloing him as a 85 shadow priest with an ilvl of 332.

The easy one I figured out a few days ago, but both involves kiting.
First of all be fully selfbuffed, and use Inner Fire. Furthermore I glyphed mine for an extra 50% armor from it.

Easy:

You need a swiftness potion for this. Just attack him and go all out dps until >you< are low on health, then quickly pop shadow fiend, and fade. While taking some distance to him, throw a renew on yourself. Now dot him up with SW:P and DP. If your shadow fiend lasts, throw VT in the mix.
As soon as your shadow fiend dies, pop the swiftness potion and start running, while keeping SW:P and DP on him. I spammed DP on him while running. Your shadowy apparitions will add a good amount of damage to him, and he should die just before your potion wears off.

The harder way:

This approach is a little harder, but once I perfected the strategy it only took me one try.
Run towards him, and preferably be behind him. Get as much range as you can and throw a DP on him and start running away from him. Add SW:P immediately.. I spammed DP quite a few times, but kept some mana to spare. When he catches up with you, keep running and keep the dots up.
When you run low on health, pop your Shadow Fiend on him, and fade immediately and get some good distance between you and him, while still being able to dps him. If your fiend lasts long enough, throw a VT in the mix, and mind flay for the rest.
When your fiend dies, start running again, and keep dots up, while spamming DP. You should be able to survive one "catch up" from him by now. When he starts to use his Log attack, you get a bit further away from him again. If he isn't already dead by now, re apply both dots, spam DP if possible, and as soon as he's in range pop dispersion to survive the incoming damage. For me he died while I was dispersed.

For both strategies, especially the harder one, it is very important that your kiting path is as straight as possible.

I solo'd this on my Arcane Mage very easily. Just pop Mirror Images and Time Warp and go to town.

This morning i could not use my stun (Hammer of Justice) on him. It said immune, so i guess they hotfixed him togheter with the honor reduction in Tol Barad.

Easy to solo on both a shaman and mage, even without being able to slow him. On an elemental shaman, you don't even have to use earth elemental, but it makes Problim... a trivial problem. (yeah......) On a mage, simply drop mirror images and watch him derp about attacking them and just nuke him until he dies.

Immune to deep freeze, making this utterly trivial to solo as a frost mage. Double deep freeze for half his health, then pop mirror images and burn him.

A not so obvious refference to Troll Face, (as i havent seen a singel comment) where hte quest A Huge Problem, reference to the saying "Problem _______?" and the monster it self is a huge troll, which well, troll, you get it. Also i dont know if the name is suppossed to be another refference, as he might say about the spelling "Problem Dictionary?".

Its very solo-able for DPSers, though do not take the fight lightly, he will light you up if you just walk into the fight casually.
